(Minghui.org) Ms. Wang Xiaoying's husband and their child only caught a glimpse of her on May 10, 2019, the day she was set to be released after serving 3.5 years at Xinjiang Women's Prison for not renouncing her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Luo Liping, a staff member from Gaoquan Town Political and Legal Affairs Committee in Ms. Wang's hometown of Kuitun City, Xinjiang Province, and two people from Gaoquan Town Judicial Bureau had seized Ms. Wang before her husband's arrival. He saw them push his wife into a car and took off.
Ms. Wang's husband later received a bill from a local brainwashing center demanding he pays for her meals there. The bill indicated that if he refused to pay, they would stop providing food to her. Only then did the husband realize that his wife had been taken to the brainwashing center for further persecution.
Ms. Wang's husband later confirmed that a dozen other Falun Gong practitioners are also detained at the brainwashing center. They are forced to watch slanderous videos against Falun Gong every day. Some psychology experts frequently talk to them and attempt to force them to give up their faith.
According to Ms. Wang's husband, the brainwashing center is inside the now-defunct 123 Tuan Detention Center. In addition to Falun Gong practitioners, other dissidents, including religious people of different faiths, petitioners and Uighurs, are also detained there.
