(Minghui.org) Eight residents of Mianzhu City, Sichuan Province are facing further prosecution for their faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
The eight practitioners, including Mr. Yang Xuncheng, Ms. Wan Mengrong, Ms. Yin Guangsu, Mr. Guo Yuanjun, Ms. Huang Bohui, Ms. Lu Shangrong, Ms. Cai Yifeng, and Ms. Li Yongfang, were arrested on May 28, 2019.
The police ransacked their homes on the next day and put them in criminal detention two days later.
The two males practitioners were detained at Huagai Detention Center, and the six female practitioners were held at Mianyang City No.3 Detention Center.
The practitioners' family members went to the Xiushui Town Police Station and Anzhou District Domestic Security Division that were responsible for the arrests every week to seek justice for their loved ones.
Most of the officers refused to talk to them. Wang Xiao, the head of the police station, said he was willing to follow the communist regime and die for it.
Ms. Yin and Mr. Huang's families later hired lawyers to represent them.
The police submitted the practitioners' cases to Anzhou District Procuratorate on June 24. The practitioners' families also talked to prosecutor Zhao Cunli and urged her not to approve their arrests.
Zhao promised to follow the law to process the cases and uphold justice for the practitioners, but she approved their arrests four days later, on June 28.
