(Minghui.org) A Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia woman is facing indictment after the police submitted her case to the Hongshan District Procuratorate for not renouncing her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Li Caixia was arrested on July 2, 2019 at home. The police ransacked her residence and confiscated her Falun Gong books and other personal property.
This isn't the first time that Ms. Li has been targeted for her faith.
On July 20, 1999, the very day that the communist regime launched the persecution campaign against Falun Gong, a group of officers arrested Ms. Li and ordered her to reveal how many practitioners she knew in her area.
When she refused to answer their questions, the officers grabbed Ms. Li by her hair and slammed her head against the floor. Eight officers beat and kicked her. To prevent her from screaming in pain, they stuffed a shoe brush in her mouth.
“We can torture you to death today, whether you believe it or not!” an officer said to Ms. Li. Several of them grabbed electric batons and shocked her for another half an hour.
The officers next ransacked Ms. Li's home and took away most of her Falun Gong books. She was detained for 33 days at the police station and then for another 15 days at the detention center.
From then on, the police often harassed Ms. Li, and staff from the residential committee monitored her daily.
Ms. Li Caixia was arrested again on November 23, 2004 after the police searched her home and found Falun Gong-related materials there. She was interrogated as to where she'd gotten the materials. When Ms. Li refused to reveal the information, the police gave her a three-year term at Tumuji Forced Labor Camp and extorted 4,000 yuan from her.
The police went to Ms. Li's home again to harass her on November 25, 2012, prior to the 18th National Congress. While she wasn't home, the officers confiscated her Falun Gong books and some cash. Ms. Li was forced to live away from home to avoid arrest. The police stayed outside Ms. Li's residence and constantly harassed her son in order to find out her whereabouts.
