(Minghui.org) Two residents of Fushun City, Liaoning Province were arrested on August 20, 2019 for talking to people about Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
The officers from Guchengzi Police Station sent Ms. Wang Xiulian and Ms. Zhang Qiuxiang to Nangou Detention Center after ransacking their residences.
The officers also refused to release the practitioners when their families went to the police station to seek justice, citing an order from the city-level Domestic Security Division.
Ms. Wang, 60, used to suffer from polio and poor health since childhood. She credits Falun Gong for returning her to health and helping her gain a new outlook on life.
“Practicing Falun Gong doesn’t only free me from the torment of diseases, it also saves my soul. Only now do I understand the true meaning of life.” she said.
But now she has been arrested for sharing her story with others in order to let more people benefit from the practice.
Her arrest left her husband, Mr. Zhang Kuiwu, who has cerebral palsy and is bedridden, in deep despair as he struggles to find a caregiver.
