(Minghui.org) Seven Falun Gong practitioners in Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province were arrested for their faith and had their homes ransacked between mid-October and early November 2019.
Six practitioners are still held in detention at the time of writing. The Chaoyang City Police Department and Political and Legal Affairs Commission, an extrajudicial agency tasked with persecuting Falun Gong, were behind the arrests.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a health-improving practice following the principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. It has been persecuted in China since July 1999.
The police broke into Ms. Wang Yumei’s home on October 16, 2019. They confiscated her Falun Gong-related items to use as evidence against her. She is now incarcerated in the Chaoyang Detention Center. The authorities refused to release Ms. Wang because she refuses to renounce her faith.
Ms. Pan Yufeng was at home when officers from the Beita Police Department arrested her on November 5. She was sent to the Chaoyang Detention Center.
On the same day, Ms. Zhang Wei was also taken from her home.
Police broke into another practitioner’s home that day but failed to make an arrest.
Ms. Wang Zaixia and her husband were arrested at home on November 7. They are both in a detention center.
Mr. Zhang Wencheng, 62, and Ms. Pan Yunxiang, 60, were arrested at home on November 8. After confiscating their valuables, plainclothes officers took the couple to the Haernao Police Station. The couple were interrogated for hours without being given any food. Their children went to the police station to ask for their release but were met with threats.
After undergoing physical examinations, Mr. Zhang was placed in the Sijing Detention Center and Ms. Pan in the Chaoyang Detention Center.
