(Minghui.org) A Xuchang City, Henan Province resident was recently sent to the Xinmi Prison to serve a three-year term for his faith in Falun Gong. His family wasn’t informed of his sentencing or imprisonment.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is an ancient spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
The police had attempted to arrest Mr. Cai Junping, 52, on the evening of July 19, 2019. Upon finding that he was still at work, they called him the next morning and asked him to return home. Mr. Cai was then arrested at home. The police returned to ransack his place after taking him to the local police station. His computer, printer, and other personal belongings were confiscated.
Mr. Cai was held at Jian’an District Detention Center before being sent to the prison. The authorities kept his family in the dark about his entire prosecution process.
Mr. Cai took up Falun Gong in early 1999. He credits the practice for helping him quit smoking and drinking. His severe stomach condition was also cured. He strove to live by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and became calmer and more considerate. At home, he is a good husband, father, and son. His colleagues and neighbors also speak highly of him.
Prior to his latest sentencing, Mr. Cai was harassed by the police in 2015, after he filed a criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese Communist Party, who ordered the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999.
