(Minghui.org) I'm an internal auditor. Internal auditing is a quality assurance process in which I review a project and the cost after the project is complete. Nowadays, telling lies and falsely manipulating things have become the norm.

In the face of this deteriorating situation, my job has become more and more challenging. Moral standards have been perverted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Master Li said, “...I have asked you to do well at work.” (“Teaching the Fa at the Conference in Canada”)

I followed Master’s teaching of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and did my work well. Whenever we were audited, I always told the truth and dealt with each project fairly and carefully.

Trials That Test My Resolve

I earned a solid reputation in my industry for my dedication and integrity. The trials and tribulations I ran into at work came from everywhere, including the contractors, all departments, as well as their complex networks.

Sometimes, people came and asked me to pass a project before the audit started. It was hard to stick to the procedures and carry on with due diligence under pressure.
In such circumstances, I always reminded myself I am a practitioner who follows the principles of Dafa and returned the gifts and money people gave me.

A facility department director once asked me to pass the audit for his garden project and handed me a small gift box.

I didn’t want to hurt his feelings. The box was small, so I accepted it, only to find an expensive watch inside. I went to his office and returned it, telling him that Dafa’s principles do not allow us to accept bribes. I followed the procedures and policies during the internal audit as usual.

Later, at a dinner party, the director told everyone that nothing could interfere with me. Dafa has improved my spiritual realm, which is reflected in my work.

At the same time, Dafa has given me wisdom, and my professional skills have improved. I was always inspired by good ideas and was able to solve many challenging problems.

Master said,

“When people understand how to conduct themselves and value virtue (de), it can translate into productivity as well. People’s hearts are all turning to goodness and they are focused on working diligently. If you want to be a good cultivator, you have to first start from the basics: you have to first be a good person. Good people have to act like good people under any circumstances, so you have to do well in the work that your boss assigns to you. You have to fulfill your obligations in society, and this will definitely have a positive effect and move things forward.” (“Teaching the Fa in Beijing at the Zhuan Falun Publication Ceremony,” Zhuan Falun Fajie)

“Dedication” and “integrity” are the words my leaders and colleagues use when they evaluate me. They say my work is “extraordinary.”

For example, another company once invited me to help with a project and we had to do an assessment on site. After I finished, the supervisor said to me, “I’d heard a lot about your dedication and professionalism, but I hadn’t seen it for myself. Today, I know why people say what they do about you. You are so different from everyone else.” I told her I just did what I should do.

Clarifying the Truth at Work

The CCP's slanderous propaganda about Dafa has deceived many people. It is our responsibility as practitioners to tell people that Dafa is good and help them become clear on the facts.

I am always kind and easygoing. I sometimes brought up the topic of social chaos when I socialized with my colleagues, then naturally spoke about the CCP's persecution of Dafa.

For a period of time, I often received truth-clarification emails at work. At first, I didn’t know why I was getting them because, as a practitioner, I knew the truth.

I later realized Master had arranged this for me to help others learn the truth. I made a habit of opening my emails during breaks and showed them to my colleagues.

I told them that the Tiananmen self-immolation was staged and about the spread of Dafa in the world. I introduced them to the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party.

I also mentioned the trend of quitting the CCP and its affiliated organizations. Some of my colleagues had positive opinions about Dafa and some agreed to quit the CCP.

When I saw how they changed, I genuinely felt Master’s greatness and compassion and really appreciated my fellow practitioners who circulated those truth-clarification emails.

Earning a Selfless Reputation

My job endows me with a certain amount of power because we evaluate the costs of the projects we audit. Therefore, the ethical requirements for someone in my profession are high. We can use our authority either to satisfy our own interests or to be a person of integrity. We can either handle every detail with all due seriousness or just pass over them carelessly.

I realized that Dafa disciples must be honorable. Our work is not cultivation, but our performance reflects the image of Dafa practitioners in ordinary society.

Master said,

“You are cultivators, whose conduct is [supposed to be] pure and righteous. There are so many people who think you're great just by having seen how you act.” (“Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Boston,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. II)

I have a solid reputation in my industry based on my skillset and ethics. I once met with a leader of another company. I’d never interacted with him professionally but had heard he was arrogant and looked down on most people. He said, “I do feel you are different from other people.” I asked him in what way, and he said he would find out more about me by himself.

Later, when I participated in the evaluation of professional licensure titles, I asked a director how to fill out the form. He told me the form was not important, so I asked him what was important.

He said, “The evaluation board is the key. Nowadays, you need to find out who is on the review board, get to know them, and give them money or a gift.”

I asked myself if I should follow the current trend and do the same. I then evaluated it against the requirements of the Fa and realized I should be righteous.

I said to myself, “I am not attached to the result. I will let the board see what type of people Dafa practitioners are.”

A few months later, I saw that “arrogant” leader in a cafeteria. He walked up to me and said, “You passed!”

I realized he was referring to the evaluation, so I asked if he was on the board. He admitted he was and asked if I’d approached any of the other board members. I told him I did not. He said, “I knew you wouldn’t. I told the other board members that you are a Falun Dafa practitioner.”

He went on to say, “You are the most dedicated person at work. Although you sometimes offend others with your upright behavior, all your decisions are fair because you are selfless.”

He further told me I’d passed with the most votes in the first round of voting.

Master said,

“Cultivation depends on one’s own efforts, while the transformation of gong is done by one’s master. It is good enough if you have this wish. It is the master who actually does this, as you are simply unable to do it.” (Lecture One, Zhuan Falun)

This leader had never had any contact with me. He learned what kind of people Falun Dafa practitioners are through word of mouth and by my performance.

He told others about the positive impact of a practitioner. This is due to Master’s compassion and greatness.
