(Minghui.org) It's important to clarify the truth rationally. We need to help others understand – not just tell them our viewpoint.
I recently took a walk with my wife and child, and they walked some distance in front of me. A middle-aged woman began walking with my wife and they briefly talked. After a few seconds, the woman ran to another person and talked with him. Then, she left and quickly spoke to another person.
My wife later told me, “She sounded like you. She said, ‘Please remember Falun Dafa is good.’”
I wondered if telling people this was sufficient to clarify the truth. I wondered if telling them to remember that one sentence was enough to help people understand that Dafa is good and why the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is persecuting Dafa practitioners.
It's outstanding that fellow practitioners clarify the truth face to face. But we need to do it in a comprehensive way. That day, the fellow practitioner spoke briefly—not because she was under pressure or had no time.
If we want people to understand the truth and be saved, we should explain in depth about the persecution so that people can truly understand. Many people have been misled by the CCP’s lies and propaganda for years. Telling them a few words is not enough to help them understand.
Some practitioners prepare informational materials to distribute. Most of the content is about ancient prophesies and does not have any basic information about Falun Dafa, the CCP-staged Tiananmen self-immolation incident, the April 25 appeal in Beijing in 1999, the so-called 1,400 cases that the CCP uses to slander Falun Dafa, why the CCP persecutes us, or what Falun Dafa is.
Nowadays many Chinese people are atheists. Even if some believe in divine beings, their baseline is very low. We know nothing about the people we are handing the information to. Speaking to people in person is different from distributing pamphlets.
If an atheist only receives information about prophecies, he might have a negative impression of Dafa and practitioners. I think we need to include basic information about Falun Dafa. We shouldn't just do it to get the job done or to feel good about how many flyers we've handed out.
