(Minghui.org) An elementary school English teacher in Foshan City, Guangdong Province was sentenced to six years in prison for her faith in Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, a spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Cai Caiying was arrested between March 11 and 17, 2020 and detained at the Foshan Detention Center. Her family recently learned that she was sentenced to six years by the Chancheng District Court around August 2020. She has been sent to the Guangdong Province Women’s Prison.
Since the onset of the persecution, Ms. Cai has been arrested multiple times and served eight years in custody.
She was given one year of forced labor in November 2000. A year after she was released, she was forced to live away from home around November 2002 to avoid police harassment.
In April 2004, Ms. Cai was arrested for distributing Falun Gong informational materials and sent to the Foshan Detention Center. She was later sentenced to seven years in the Guangdong Women’s Prison, where she was subjected to strict monitoring and not allowed to talk to others. Because of her saying “Falun Dafa is good,” she was held in an isolated room for ten months and subjected to intensive brainwashing.
On April 12, 2016, after hearing about a planned police sweep of local Falun Gong practitioners, Ms. Cai was forced to live away from home again to avoid the persecution.
