(Minghui.org) A Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province resident was arrested a second time this year on December 14, 2020 for his faith in Falun Gong and is now held incommunicado at a brainwashing center.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is an ancient spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Mr. Huang Qiangsheng
Mr. Huang Qiangsheng, 52 and owner of a construction company, was arrested on April 7, 2020, for distributing information about how the authorities covered up the pandemic with similar tactics used in the persecution of Falun Gong. The police ransacked his home on the evening of his arrest and put him on criminal detention on the next day at Guangzhou City No. 2 Detention Center.
Although Mr. Huang was released on May 5 after the police dropped his case due to insufficient evidence, the officers and staffers from the residential committee kept coming back to harass him. Each time they came, they videotaped Mr. Huang.
As Mr. Huang returned home on December 14 after grocery shopping, a group of officers stopped him in the hallway, dragged him into the elevator, and arrested him.
Xu Linying, one of the police officers who arrested Mr. Huang, told his family that based on the videos from their previous “visits,” Mr. Huang has some thought problems and they were sending him to a brainwashing center for further “education.” The police “comforted” Mr. Huang’s family, saying that he wasn’t the only one who was held at the brainwashing center, as there were a few other Falun Gong practitioners who were also taken there, including one with advanced age.
