(Minghui.org) As the novel coronavirus epidemic ravages China, cases of infection and casualties are on the rise every day.
While mourning the lives lost to the virus, I’d like to share some of my understandings about this issue from a different perspective. I hope that through the epidemic, more people can understand the facts about the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and better protect themselves from being taken advantage of by the Party in the future.
Epidemic Helps People See Through the CCP’s Selfish Nature and Utter Disregard for Life
As the virus outbreak initially started in Wuhan, the CCP covered it up and withhold the news to maintain the Party's image of being “glorious and always correct.” As a result, people were caught off guard and the virus spread rapidly throughout the country.
After the virus became an epidemic and its wide spread could no longer be hidden from the public, the CCP ordered the sudden lockdown of Wuhan and Hubei Province. While fighting the epidemic, many people also have to face the crisis of shortage of basic necessities and medical supplies.
Take the region of my residence for instance; people cannot buy face masks anywhere now and some use shirts to cover their faces. Some medical professionals were infected because they were not protected by proper equipment.
Due to the severe shortage of basic supplies, people are living in horrible conditions. Many of those infected cannot be hospitalized and were left at home to fend for themselves, due to the lack of hospital beds.
A Shakeup of People’s Value System
The notion that money talks is ubiquitous in today's China. Since the virus outbreak, the rich are panicking the same as others and they have quickly realized that money is not so important as they had imagined.
With modern notions, people no longer believe in the divine. They seek out money and material enjoyment at any cost, and regard spirituality as superstition.
While staying at home during the lockdown, some may start to think about whether material enjoyment is what they really want, and perhaps there are more important things about life that they may have never realized before.
People Begin to Take a Second Look at Falun Gong
Since people cannot count on the CCP, on money, or modern medicine (at this point) for salvation, a strong sense of panic and helplessness have become prevalent.
Chinese people long for something dependable that can ensure their lives and safety. When we talk to them about Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa) at this time, people might be willing to give it a second thought instead of rejecting it outright.
As a Dafa practitioner, we should continue to save people and keep up our leading role, regardless of what happens in society. We should not be limited by various forms; rather, we should adjust to our local condition and personal situation in our efforts to clarify the truth, as long as we can save people.
Most people under the current circumstances are staying home reading their phones and computers to get information. However, due to the real name registration policy for all cellphones, and internet censorship, practitioners in China are limited in their abilities in this regard. In contrast, overseas practitioners have great potential to reach more people.
I feel that all practitioners should be mobilized and participate in the effort to deliver the life-saving information to people, who are waiting and longing for it.
On the other hand, the epidemic is also a test for us and what we do is a reflection of our cultivation state. Am I afraid of contracting the virus and dying? Am I afraid of being arrested and my home ransacked if I go out to clarify the facts? We must let go of our selfishness and human notions in order to save more people.
One thing is for sure: with Master's care and Dafa's guidance, as long as we keep up our righteous minds and actions, we will pave our own path in any situation.
Above is my current understanding. Fellow practitioners, please point out anything inappropriate.
