(Minghui.org) It pains my heart to read the news about the coronavirus epidemic in China. As a survivor of SARS, I’d like to share my story of how I recovered from the deadly virus 17 years ago without taking a pill.
I was attending college in Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province, in 2003 when the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) broke out.
I had symptoms such as fever and dry cough. I tried to weather it by staying in my dormitory room. But when my symptoms still persisted after a few days, I heeded my mother's advice and took a train back home. However, my fever continued and I was bedridden, sweating constantly.
My mother practices Falun Dafa, which is an ancient spiritual discipline based on the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. While in high school, I often joined her in doing the Falun Dafa exercises in the parks and read its teachings with other practitioners.
The Chinese Communist Party started to persecute Falun Dafa in 1999 due to its immense popularity. I had started college by the time. Away from my mother, I lost the practice environment. But I always knew that Falun Dafa was good, no matter what demonizing propaganda the communist regime put out there.
As I suffered from SARS symptoms, my mother suggested that I recite, “Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” She also played for me Dafa’s lecture audios. Although I sometimes fell asleep while listening, I kept going once I woke up.
Such a routine continued for about a week until one day I suddenly felt hungry. I ate some food and took a hot shower. All of my symptoms went away afterward! I went back to school two days later.
My recovery from SARS shows that miracles do happen when we believe in the healing power of Falun Dafa. I trust that reciting “Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” will also help people facing the coronavirus epidemic.
