(Minghui.org) After more than 70 years of totalitarian government under the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), many Chinese have become very self-protective and wouldn’t casually reveal their feelings or thoughts to others.
One day, I asked my family: “I have some videos that you usually can’t see in China. Do you want to see it?”
I asked them several times, but no one answered. Finally, one family member said, “Why do you keep asking? Just take it out and show it to us. Nobody will tell you directly that they want to see it.”
I immediately grabbed the DVD and showed it to my family. They watched it attentively and were all deeply touched.
What my family member said to me and their responding well to the video made me think a great deal afterward.
I remembered that before I began to practice Falun Dafa, I received a message from a stranger on QQ with information about Dafa. I was very shocked and felt the information was like sunshine into a dark room! I was excited and curious. I asked that person: “Is that real?” Instead of answering my question, he replied: “Do you want to see more?”
I was very hesitant. I was a college student at that time and I knew that all social media were under surveillance by the authorities. I was worried if I would be punished if I asked for more to read myself.
I didn’t respond to him, but was hoping he could just send me the information.
I kept waiting, but he never sent me anything. After a while, I deleted his contact out of concern for my safety.
Master taught us:
“It's hard to save people nowadays. You have to explain things to them by following the logic of their attachments. For the sake of saving them, don't create any obstacles for them.” (Touring North America to Teach the Fa)
I realized that under the long-term suppression and terrorist governing under the CCP, most Chinese citizens are longing for truthful information, but they are also afraid to expose their true thoughts.
It was very much like someone who was kidnapped and tried to call for help. He called the police while pretending to be calling for carry-out. If the police kept asking him whether he needed help, he might hang up the phone due to fear of being caught. But in fact, he was really in need of help.
My past and recent experience reminded me to be more understanding of people. While protecting their safety, we can also be more proactive in passing the information to them.
