(Minghui.org) A man in his 20s is facing trial for sharing information about his faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual practice that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since 1999.
Mr. Luo Zhiyin, a resident of Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, was arrested on September 26, 2019 after the police suspected him of putting up informational materials about Falun Gong. They ransacked his home and interrogated him at the local police station. They beat him on the head and tore his clothes.
One officer pushed Mr. Luo’s head between his legs to humiliate him. Another one threatened to harvest his organs if he refused to answer their questions. (Editor’s note: The Chinese communist regime has killed Falun Gong practitioners for their organs since the persecution began.)
The police took Mr. Luo to Futian Detention Center the day after his arrest. After the police submitted his case to Nanshan District Procuratorate three months later, they transferred him to Nanshan District Detention Center on January 8, 2020, where he has been held since.
The prosecutor returned his case twice for insufficient evidence. After the police submitted his case for the third time on March 5, 2020, the prosecutor indicted him on April 14 and forwarded his case to Nanshan District Court.
From Selfish and Indifferent to Friendly and Considerate
Born in the 1990s and the youngest child at home, Mr. Luo was spoiled by his parents. He was insensible, indifferent, and ungrateful.
He dropped out of high school despite his parents' pleas for him to get a diploma. He didn't look for a job afterward. He often stayed up all night and didn’t get up until noon. He refused to communicate with others and lived in his own world.
After his father passed away, he became irritable and grumpy. During a quarrel with his mother, he became so angry that he smashed the glass in their front door, leaving his mother collapsed, trembling and crying.
Mr. Luo’s mother often cried and didn’t know how to educate him. Her health deteriorated quickly, and she also passed away not long after her husband's death.
Now an orphan, Mr. Luo became even more withdrawn and dejected. He was completely lost and didn’t know how to go about his life.
At this time, he was introduced to Falun Gong. Its teachings brightened up his life, and he began to open up to others. He became positive, considerate, calm, and strong.
He returned to school. After finishing his studies in Shenzhen, he found a job there and became financially independent.
In his spare time, he distributed information about Falun Gong and shared the story of how Falun Gong had helped him, urging people not to believe the state-sponsored propaganda attacking the practice. As a result, he was targeted by the authorities and now faces trial.
