(Minghui.org) A man in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, has been detained for five months for refusing to give up his faith in Falun Gong, a cultivation practice that has been persecuted in China since July 1999.
Mr. Wang Guohua, a driving instructor in his 50s, was arrested at work on October 23, 2019, by officers from Chengxi Police Station. They ransacked his home and confiscated his laptops, cell phones, printer, and Falun Gong literature.
According to the police who arrested him, an officer from the Political and Legal Affairs Committee, an extra-judicial agency tasked with persecuting Falun Gong, ordered the arrest.
Mr. Wang is now in the Chengdu City Detention Center. The police sold his car without his consent.
Prior to this arrest, Mr. Wang was twice given one-year detention terms and once sentenced to prison for not renouncing his faith.
