(Minghui.org) A Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province resident was arrested for her faith in Falun Gong, a mind-body discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since 1999.
Ms. Zhu Chengxia returned home with her husband from a short trip around 9 p.m. on April 29, 2020, only to be arrested by agents from Yangzhou 610 Office.
According to Ms. Zhu’s neighbor, the 610 Office agents have been waiting outside the couple's apartment and monitoring the place for days. The 610 Office is an extra-legal agency that was created specifically on June 10, 1999 to persecute Falun Gong.
The police took away Ms. Zhu’s keys and searched her place. Two copying machines were confiscated. She is currently held at Yangzhou City Detention Center.
Ms. Zhu, around 67, used to suffer severe mobility impairment and was unable to walk on her own. After she learned Falun Gong in 1997, she quickly recovered and was able to walk again.
Because of upholding her faith and speaking up for it, she has been targeted several times in the past 21 years.
On December 10, 2015, Ms. Zhu was arrested for filing a criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin, the former head of the communist regime, for ordering the persecution of Falun Gong.
She appeared in Yizheng City Court on July 26, 2016 and was sentenced to 1.5 years on November 13, 2016.
