(Minghui.org) A 78-year-old resident of Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, is scheduled to appear in Nanshan District Court on May 27, 2020, for her faith in Falun Gong. She will act as her own lawyer to enter a not-guilty plea.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Gan Jiejun was arrested and had her home raided on January 3, 2019, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was released on bail after being denied detention for having high blood pressure.
Ms. Gan, a native of Changsha City, Hunan Province, took up Falun Gong in 1995. She has been arrested several times and served three years between 2010 and 2012 at Guangdong Province Women’s Prison for upholding her faith.
