(Minghui.org) The Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) cover-up and misinformation campaign surrounding the Wuhan virus (which causes COVID-19) pandemic, has affected the lives of hundreds of millions of people around the globe.
Through this horrific event, many people have come to see the nature of the CCP and begun to reassess the practice of Falun Gong, as they realize that they were misled by the Party.
One day, I met with a well-known human rights lawyer at a party. He expressed his admiration for Chinese democracy advocates, as well as the family members of those involved in the June 4 massacre. He called them all “heroes.”
When I steered the conversation towards Falun Gong, he appeared indifferent and evasive. Many Chinese people—including academics—completely misunderstand Falun Gong. This is due to the CCP’s relentless propaganda campaign of defaming and framing the practice.
I've talked to many people who claim, “The persecution of Falun Gong has nothing to with me!” They don’t feel the pain caused by the persecution because they've never personally experienced it.
The CCP controls every major media outlet in China, making it hard for people to know the true situation of the Wuhan virus pandemic.
It even tries to deceive the Chinese people and the world, falsely claiming that there are now only a handful of COVID-19 virus cases in all of China, each week.
This is the same strategy the Party used when it claimed that on April 25, 1999, “Falun Gong besieged the Communist Party headquarters and is involved in politics.”
However, what really happened that day, is that about 10,000 Falun Gong practitioners went to Beijing to request the release of 45 practitioners who had been unlawfully detained; to request permission to publish Falun Gong books, and to be allowed to practice their belief, without any government interference.
A police vehicle, equipped with several video cameras, videotaped the practitioners as they stood in line outside of Zhongnanhai, the central government's compound. Each practitioner was well aware of the consequences they'd face in the near future.
The CCP claims that their main headquarters is not a place for normal citizens to visit, and that whoever goes there, is there to make trouble or to overthrow those in power.
When I told a foreigner friend of mine about the April 25 appeal, he said, “What’s wrong with going to the CCP's headquarters? It was an appeal. It's a citizen's legal right to be there!”
What Falun Gong practitioners were doing that day amounted to safeguarding the basic rights of the Chinese people: freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, and freedom of belief.
However, the CCP deprives the Chinese people of these same basic rights and treats them like slaves of the state.
If every Chinese person was allowed to speak the truth, listen to the truth, differentiate between right and wrong, and refused to accept the CCP’s lies and propaganda, the Wuhan pandemic may never have occurred.
Although 21 years have passed since the April 25 appeal, many people still hold negative views of Falun Gong.
These people really need to look at the facts instead of the evil CCP's lies. Only then will they clearly see the truth!
