(Minghui.org) Ms. Li Juhua was meditating at home at around 5:00 a.m. on June 10, 2020, when a group of police officers broke in and arrested her. Her sister, who happened to be visiting her, was also arrested.
The police ransacked Ms. Li’s home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and related materials. Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is an ancient spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
While taking Ms. Li to the police car, the police noticed a young man standing on the street holding up his cellphone. Suspecting that he was recording their unlawful persecution of Ms. Li, they also arrested the young man and took him to the police station for interrogation.
Ms. Li was later given 15 days of detention and her sister got 10 days. They were taken to the Erzhigou Women’s Detention Center. It’s not clear whether Ms. Li’s sister also practices Falun Gong.
Because of upholding her faith, Ms. Li, a Wuhan City, Hubei Province resident, has been repeatedly arrested, harassed, and served three labor camp terms for more than four years.
