(Minghui.og) The Dananmen Police Station in Anqing City, Anhui Province has a track record of brutally persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. Below are a few recent cases.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is an ancient spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Electric Shocks to Temples and Spraying Hot-Pepper Water in the Face
Several officers from the police station went to Ms. Xu Anyun's home on June 5, 2019. They ransacked her home and tried to arrest her.
As Ms. Xu resisted, one officer shocked her temple with an electric baton and another sprayed hot-pepper water on her face. As the police were taking her away, her husband ran into them at the apartment building entrance. Noticing Ms. Xu's condition, he worried about her and went to the police station to support her.
The electric shock caused Ms. Xu to have instant memory loss. She also felt dizzy and her blood pressure became very high. The police were afraid of her condition worsening and released her at around midnight.
Forced to Wear Electronic Shackle Monitors
A group of officers from Dananman Police Station arrested Ms. Shu Yulan, 58, at her home on May 2, 2020 for telling people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Her sister, Ms. Shu Yulian, 68, from Hefei City, who was visiting her at the time, was taken to the police station as well.
The police sent the sisters to the Anqing City Detention Center the next day. But the detention center refused to admit them, as both of them had high blood pressure.
The police released them later in the day, but forced them to wear electronic shackle monitors around the clock. Ms. Shu Yulian had to keep it on when she returned home to Hefei.
The police declared the monitor system worth more than 10,000 yuan and the sisters were to pay for any damage to the monitors. The police had the sisters wear the monitors for about a month.
