(Minghui.org) An elementary school teacher in Xingning City, Guangdong Province was sentenced to three years in prison and fined 3,000 yuan on December 13, 2019 for talking to her students about Falun Gong, a mind-body practice that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since 1999.
Ms. Xing Shuxian, 51, was arrested at home on March 22, 2019 after being reported by her students’ parents. The police searched her home and office. Her two computers, six cell phones, 39 Falun Gong books and some related materials were confiscated.
Ms. Xing was put on criminal detention at Xingning City Detention Center and her arrest was approved on April 25. She appeared in Mei County Court in August 2019 and was convicted four months later. She has been sent to Guangdong Women’s Prison.
Prior to her latest arrest, Ms. Xing was given forced labor in January 2001 for going to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong.
