(Minghui.org) Four Xinbin County, Liaoning Province residents have been indicted and are facing trial for their faith in Falun Gong.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is an ancient spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Meng Zhaoxia, Ms. Song Zhimin, Ms. Liu Shuqin, and Ms. Li Chunmei were arrested at home around 3 a.m. on September 18, 2019 by dozens of officers from four local police stations.
The four women were targeted after they mailed letters about Falun Gong to the general public in Jiangsu Province, which then notified officials in Liaoning Province.
The Liaoning Province Public Security Bureau ordered the local police to monitor the four practitioners for six months. When they went to mail letters again, this time in the neighboring Benxi City, they were videotaped and soon arrested.
The four practitioners have been detained at Chaibei Detention Center in Benxi City. After the police submitted their cases to Hengren County Procuratorate in October 2019, the prosecutor returned their case for insufficient evidence, before accepting them at the police’s second attempt. The practitioners are now facing trial by Hengren County Court.
