(Minghui.org) A Yan’an City, Shaanxi Province resident was secretly sentenced to 3.5 years for her faith in Falun Gong between late April and early May 2020.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is an ancient spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Pu Huiqun, 67, went missing in October 7, 2019. Her family, who had never been given any updates from authorities, found out recently that she had been arrested and later sentenced after being followed by the police for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong.
Because of upholding her faith, Ms. Pu has been given two labor camp terms and a prison term in the past two decades. She was savagely beaten, hung up by the wrists and injected with unknown drugs in custody. The guards also denied her family visits, deprived her of sleep and restroom use. Her feet were often swollen after being forced to stand for long hours.
Prior to her latest arrest, she was detained at Yan’an City Detention Center for nine months between February and November 2018 for talking to people about Falun Gong.
