(Minghui.org) Two Puning City, Guangdong Province residents were scheduled to appear in court on July 9, 2020 for their faith in Falun Gong, a mind-body practice that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Huang Aihua and Ms. Chen Meihua were arrested on February 16, 2020 for talking to people about Falun Gong. Their homes were also ransacked.
When the two practitioners’ families went to the local police station to inquire about their cases on the afternoon of February 17, they saw them being put into a vehicle for transfer to the Puning City Detention Center. After nearly four months of detention there, the two practitioners were transferred to Jiedong Detention Center around June 8.
It was reported that all Falun Gong related cases in Puning City, a county-level city under the administration of Jieyang City, are now handled by the Jiedong Court in Jieyang.
Ms. Huang previously had a very strong personality and often had issues with her mother-in-law. After learning Falun Gong in 1999, she stopped complaining about her husband for not defending her in her quarrels with his mother. She took good care of her mother-in-law, especially after the elderly woman became wheelchair-bound seven years before her passing.
Ms. Chen came from a farmers’ family. She also took up Falun Gong around 1999 after witnessing the health improvement in her mother.
