(Minghui.org) One day, I was reading an article written by Master Li, the founder of Falun Dafa, entitled “Righteous Thoughts.” Master said,
“Dafa disciples’ sending forth righteous thoughts at this special historic period—in order to reduce the evil beings’ persecution of Dafa, Dafa disciples, and the people of the world—has played a very critical role.” (“Righteous Thoughts,” The Essentials of Diligent Progress III)
Master also said,
“This is how to do it: (1) You should focus your attention and your effort, your mind has to be absolutely clear and rational, the force of your thoughts needs to be focused and strong, with an air of supremacy and of destroying all evil in the cosmos.” (“Righteous Thoughts,” The Essentials of Diligent Progress III)
I felt that my knowing side was shocked when I read Master’s Fa about sending righteous thoughts. It was as if my human body was connected to another dimension with electricity. I immediately started sending forth righteous thoughts following Master’s instructions about how to do it,
“... focus powerful thoughts in saying the word mie after they finish saying the formula. The mie word needs to be so strong that it’s as large as the cosmic body, encompassing everything and leaving out nothing in any dimension.” (“Righteous Thoughts,” The Essentials of Diligent Progress III)
I felt that my body was just as Master said: “Reaching the Zenith of Heaven and the Nadir of Earth” (The Great Way of Spiritual Perfection). My mind was focusing on the word “mie,” which is the Chinese character for “eliminate.” The mie word seemed to spread all over the universe, fulfilling the mission bestowed on Dafa disciples to eradicate evil.
I was completely enveloped by the positive energy in the universe. I felt Falun rotating regularly above my head and the energy rushing through the top of my head in bursts. I forgot that time was flowing. Everything around me seemed illusory; only surging energy was there.
This experience helped me gain some understanding about sending forth righteous thoughts.
Usually, I seem to attach great importance to sending forth righteous thoughts. But I feel I sometimes just go through the motions, which is hard to notice. On the surface I was sending forth righteous thoughts, but I did not completely follow Master’s instructions. Sending forth righteous thoughts in such a way would negatively affect their power.
In fact, how we treat sending forth righteous thoughts is also one criterion that tests whether Dafa disciples truly follow Master. Master taught us the law of universe that guides us to return to our original, true selves. Master protects us all the way. We shoulder the mission of assisting Master to rectify the Fa and save sentient beings.
How can we stay on course and not get lost? What can we do to keep our faith in Master and the Fa? My understanding is that we have to listen to Master, unconditionally believing in Dafa, and act the way He tells us to. We are cultivating at different levels, so our understandings of Master’s Fa are different. But that is fine, because Dafa is harmonizing and all-encompassing, and the Buddha Law is boundless.
Master warned disciples,
“... I have been continually saying that Dafa disciples’ abilities are tremendous, yet many people don’t believe this since those abilities were not allowed to be seen. Under the effect of righteous thoughts, everything around you, as well as you yourself, will undergo changes. Yet you have never thought to give it a try. The old forces as well as the interference from the evil elements are precisely exploiting the gaps in your thinking. That’s what they have been doing all these years. All along the old forces have been directing rotten spirits and the factors of the evil Party to do this, causing you to fail in your efforts to save people. They do this because they don’t have the ability to defeat you in a direct fight. It wouldn’t matter what kind of mighty force they assembled, the instant you started sending righteous thoughts they would all be turned to ashes, completely destroyed and unable to amount to anything. If this kind of fighting continued on, the interference from rotten spirits and factors of the evil Party would be eliminated and disappear. When Dafa disciples are able to send righteous thoughts with good concentration and strong enough righteous thoughts—give it a try—if you could do that today, half of all the evil that now exists would be wiped out.” (“20th Anniversary Fa Teaching,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. XI)
We are fortunate to be Master’s disciples and to shoulder the mission of assisting Him to rectify the Fa and save sentient beings. Master bestowed all of this upon us. The Fa has created us. The Fa that Master taught to disciples is the ladder to return to our homes in heaven. We are in a maze and only by listening to Master and correcting ourselves according to Master’s requirements, can we have righteous thoughts and righteous actions and become righteous enlightened beings of the new universe. Therefore, it is key to attach great importance to sending righteous thoughts.
