(Minghui.org) A woman in Yichang City, Hubei Province, was recently arrested and sent to a brainwashing center for her faith in Falun Gong, a mind-body discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since 1999. Ms. Huang Wenfen’s 96-year-old father, who relies on her to take care of him, was left unattended.
Ms. Huang was at home on August 20, 2021, when a neighborhood committee member and a police officer barged in and asked her why she refused to get the coronavirus vaccine. The officer claimed to be from the same hometown as Ms. Huang and asked if he could read her Falun Gong books. Ms. Huang saw through his trick and didn’t show him any books. She later found out that his name is Cai Rong.
Eleven police officers from the local Public Security Bureau, police station, and 610 Office broke into Ms. Huang's home on the morning of September 8, 2021, and ransacked it. They confiscated her printer and Falun Gong books and ordered her to sign a guarantee statement promising to renounce her faith. She refused to comply.
Two days later, four officers, one of them named Huang Yong, from the police station and 610 office, arrested Ms. Huang at home. They interrogated her and ordered her to reveal where she got her Falun Gong books. She refused to answer and was released hours later.
The same four officers went to Ms. Huang's home again on September 12 and ordered her to cooperate with them. They claimed that they didn't want to arrest her again, as long as she answered their questions.
On October 30, three police officers from Xiaoxita Police Station, including Wang Chaohui, Chen Dejin, and Ma Chuyi, as well as Yuan Junhua from the local neighborhood committee, arrested Ms. Huang and took her to the Wujiagang Brainwashing Center, where she was set to be held for a week.
As Ms. Huang is unemployed, she and her father have been depending on her daughter for financial support, including both living expenses and mortgage. Her arrest has left her 96-year-old father without care and her daughter struggling to cope with the mental stress.
