(Minghui.org) I recently had two dialogues with a fellow practitioner. They were thought-provoking and I would like to share them with fellow practitioners.
First Dialogue
I have congenital hearing loss in one ear and limited hearing in another. Some time ago, the semi-normal ear had an infection, and my hearing dropped sharply. I was worried that I might completely lose my hearing. I went to the hospital and the doctor found that my eardrum was perforated.
After fellow practitioner Wei heard about my condition, he tried to console me, “In ancient times, some cultivators in unorthodox schools blinded and deafened themselves so as to avoid seeing or hearing bad things that might result in karma for them. You are a Dafa practitioner who is cultivating the great law of the cosmos, so why should you worry about becoming deaf?”
I responded, “It is easy for you to say, since you have good hearing in both ears, but I only have one ear that works!”
He said to me, “When I was tortured in prison, I suffered a brain injury and internal bleeding. I lost hearing in both ears. I listened to Fa teaching through a headphone for 17 hours straight. After I took off the headphone, several blood clots fell out of both of my ear canals. My hearing had recovered and my eardrums were intact. Several doctors said it was a medical miracle.”
Second Dialogue
I felt dizzy when I was out and about two days ago. I stopped my electric bicycle and there happened to be a utility pole nearby. I grabbed it to keep from falling. My bicycle fell, though, as I didn’t have the strength to hold onto it. Two minutes later, I felt normal again.
I came across Wei again and told him my story.
Wei: “Did you try to control the dizziness with your main consciousness?”
Me: “How could I do that? I was about to pass out.”
Wei: “That dizziness was not you. You agreed with it, so it made you dizzy.”
Me: “What could I have done differently that day?”
Wei: “Well, let me share a story with you. I purchased a poorly-made Purple Sand tea mug two days ago. I should have washed it before using it for the first time, but I didn’t and I was poisoned by the heavy metal used in making the mug. I felt very dizzy and was about to fall. I sat down immediately and began sending forth righteous thoughts to eliminate that 'dizziness.' It became weaker and eventually disappeared.”
Me: “You were able to do it well but I wasn’t.”
Wei: “That was a notion forced upon you by the old forces. You shouldn’t have followed it, but you did.”
Me: “But I still have my flesh body. I could not stop from feeling dizzy that day.”
Wei: “Not just you, many fellow practitioners use the same excuse. It is a problem, in my opinion. I understand that we still bleed after being cut by a knife. But our hearts and mind should be stable. Our faith in Dafa should be indestructible like a diamond. If you fail to do so, it means you still have omissions, and you haven’t enlightened to what Master taught us Non-Omission in Buddha-Nature in Essentials for Further Advancement.”
He also gave me two examples of ancients who overcame physical conditions with strong willpower. He reminded me that Dafa is omnipresent and that I should send forth righteous thoughts to disintegrate any interference coming my way, such as dizziness and other discomfort.
In the end, he reiterated the importance of having faith in Dafa. I came to see that no matter what happens, our first thought should be righteous and only our true faith in Dafa can protect us in those dangerous situations.
