(Minghui.org) A project outside of China recently ran into financial difficulties and approached a practitioner for a donation. Because he is not familiar with banking, I was asked to help with the transfer of funds.
Within several months, I helped him with two transfers amounting to tens of thousands of dollars. Then I received another notice requesting a larger donation. As I was processing the transfer, I noticed his account balance was a little short to cover the requested amount. After notifying him, I decided to talk with the practitioners in the project about this since nothing is our cultivation is accidental.
A practitioner who claimed to be a coordinator responsible for outreach for the project said, “This project is very effective at saving people and one of Master Li’s family members is in charge of it.” He said that Master had specifically assigned a family member to oversee the project. The coordinator said Master’s family members are different from the rest of us and whoever donates to this project would be blessed.
I made my opinion clear, that is, I would not comment on this issue and it would be up to the above-mentioned practitioner donor to decide what to do next. But I urged the project outreach coordinator to strengthen his Fa-study and pay attention to his outreach style. But he did not seem convinced.
I'd like to share my understanding on this. I totally agree that this project is very effective when it comes to saving people. Out of my infinite reverence for Master, I am also very respectful of Master's family members. However, when promoting a project that takes the form of a regular, everyday company to clarify the truth, it is inconsistent with the Fa to raise funds among practitioners, regardless of the format or the reason. It is totally against the Fa to ask for money, especially in the name of “Master’s family members.” This would incur serious consequences and it is absolutely not what Master wants.
In the meantime, we Dafa disciples should be clear that Master’s family members are different from Master himself. Only by regarding the Fa as teacher can one improve in cultivation. Seeking donations for a project in the name of Master’s family members is not only disrespectful of Master, but also causes damage to Master’s family members.
In retrospect, I also realized that I was disturbed by the project outreach coordinator's words and my response to him might have been too stern. Thinking of safeguarding the Fa, however, I decided to write this down. I worry that the same thing might happen again if the coordinator’s understanding on this matter remains the same. That would cause damage and losses to our efforts to validate the Fa. Therefore, it is imperative that this issue be taken seriously and corrective measures implemented. I hope that all practitioners put a halt to similar incidents as soon as they are discovered. Only by regarding the Fa as teacher can we cultivate well based on the Fa.
