(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners held a rally on April 23, 2021, at King George Square in Brisbane to condemn the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) human rights violations in China and call upon Australians to help stop the CCP’s harassment of Falun Gong at truth-clarification sites in Hong Kong.
Visitors at King George Square could read the practitioners’ banners, which said: “Stop the persecution of Falun Gong; Stop the harassment in Hong Kong; Disintegrate the CCP; CCP is the virus damaging the whole world.”
Many people took photos and videos and signed a petition to support Falun Gong.
Calling upon the International Community to Stop the CCP Together

John Dowie, a Falun Gong representative in Queensland, gave a speech at the rally condemning the CCP’s violence against Falun Gong information booths in Hong Kong.
Dowie called on the international community to unite and fight against the CCP. He said that violations against freedom in any place threaten the freedom of the whole world. “If Hong Kong loses its freedom and human rights, who would be next?” he asked.

Dr. Cuong Bui pointed out that the CCP is not China
Dr. Cuong Bui, the president of the Vietnamese Community in Australia’s Queensland chapter, and the chair of the Global Victims of Communism, Australian chapter, is a well-known human right activist and champion of freedom. In 2000, he learned about the persecution of Falun Gong in China. He supports Falun Gong’s peaceful activities against the persecution.
In his speech at the rally, he briefly reviewed the bloody history of the CCP since 1949. He pointed out that not all Chinese people are CCP members, and the CCP is not equivalent to China.
Dr. Bui said that the CCP is a threat to the world. It has infiltrated the political, culture, education, and agriculture sectors in Australia. He condemned the CCP for its sanctions on Australian wheat, wine, and coal.
He called upon the audience to recognize the evilness of the Party. “If we love our country and our way of life, we should take action to protect our freedom and democracy and keep our future from the CCP and evil communism,” he said.
Student Calls upon the Australian Government to Sanction CCP Officials
Jacob, a student representative from Hong Kong, said in his speech that the rally's purpose was to draw attention to the CCP’s harassment against Falun Gong in Hong Kong.
“Freedom is the CCP’s target. It is afraid of our thoughts and our abilities. They are afraid of our unity. But we are not afraid of them. We will stand firmly until the CCP crashes,” he said.
Jacob called upon the international community and Australians to pay attention to the human rights abuses and infringements on media freedom in Hong Kong, which have gotten worse.
He also hoped that the Australian government would enact the the Global Magnitsky Human Rights Accountability Act and sanction CCP officials who have committed crimes against humanity.
