(Minghui.org) It was recently confirmed by the Minghui.org website that Ms. Yang Yunxiang was sentenced to four years in prison in 2019 for her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Yang, a Tianjin resident, was arrested on December 28, 2017 in a police sweep. A residential committee staff member deceived her into opening the door by saying that she hadn’t paid the utility fee and they were intending to shut off her power. When Ms. Yang opened the door, more than ten officers broke in and ransacked her home. Her two computers, three printers, a dozen cellphones and over 20,000 yuan in cash were confiscated. When the police took her away, they didn’t even allow her to change out of her pajamas or put on a jacket.
Another 36 local Falun Gong practitioners were arrested on the same day. All of their homes were ransacked. In some cases, the police opened the practitioners’ doors by using a master key, or they indeed shut off the practitioners’ electricity and arrested them when they came out to investigate the situation. Some police revealed that they had been monitoring the practitioners for a long time before arresting them.
It has been confirmed that Ms. Yang was sentenced to four years some time in 2019 and taken to the Tianjin Women’s Prison in September the same year. More details of her sentencing are being investigated at the time of writing.
