(Minghui.org) “I like Falun Dafa. I’m signing the petition to support you,” said Martin, a software engineer, at the World Falun Dafa Day celebration in Bern, Switzerland.

Demonstrating the Dafa exercises at Kornhaus Plaza

On May 8, 2021, Swiss Falun Dafa practitioners held peaceful protests in front of the Chinese embassy and consulate, and demonstrated the exercises at Kornhaus Plaza, to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day, and to tell the public about the persecution of Falun Dafa in China. They also read an open letter calling for the end of the persecution.

“I saw peace and freedom in them,” Hans, a passerby, said. “They are what this world needs.”

Many tourists signed the petition against the persecution. Some asked for more materials for their friends.

We Cannot Accept the Persecution

Janis knows about Falun Dafa and the persecution very well, as he has watched several documentaries on the subject.

“The forced organ harvesting is really horrifying,” he said. “The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is afraid of its own people. The Party tries to control everything, but all of a sudden, more than 100 million people have their own thoughts, so the Party considers this group as threatening them, and started the persecution.”

Janis believes that Falun Dafa has no political goals. “They just try to improve themselves,” he said. “What they are doing is wonderful. We can learn a lot from them.”

“It would be a joke, if we accepted the persecution. How can we let it happen? That is why I signed the petition,” he explained.

Janis also asked his friends to sign the petition, hoping that the CCP will no longer rule China, and Switzerland will not rely on China economically, no longer purchasing products made by slave labor.

Let More People Know the Truth

Marit found that the CCP is trying to deceive the world and give people the wrong impression of China. She is interested in finding out the truth about China. So, when she passed by the practitioners’ event, she stopped, listened to the speeches, and talked to practitioners for a long time.

“I see justice in today’s event,” Marit said. She took a stack of fliers for her friends. “I will let more people know about this. Many people are not informed. I will pass out the fliers.”

Marit believes that many Chinese don’t know about the persecution and the Party’s brutality. “They are victims too. They have been brainwashed by the Party,” she said.

“Falun Dafa practitioners have a difficult task—waking up those who have been brainwashed, and letting them understand how to be real Chinese. Peacefully passing out the truth is the best way to do it,” she encouraged practitioners.

Resumed the Exercises 25 Years Later

Martin, a software engineer from America, is now living in Bern. He learned the Falun Dafa exercises 25 years ago. He told practitioners that he was interested in meditation back then.

“I got a Falun Dafa flier, so I learned the exercises. Practitioners were very nice to me. I like Falun Dafa,” he said.

He joined the group exercise in the morning, and re-learned the movements. In the afternoon, he came back to sign the petition. He told practitioners that he will join the local exercise site on weekends.

Martin also knows about the persecution. “It is really horrible. They even harvest organs from living people. It should not happen”

He encouraged practitioners to continue their peaceful efforts to stop the persecution.

The Persecution Must Stop

Fabian and his friend Mario signed the petition right away after being told about the persecution.

Both young men condemned the atrocities in China. “It must stop. We must end it,” Fabian said. Mario believed that signing the petition is a good thing. He was happy to help practitioners this way.

Mario also praised the practitioners’ event, saying that it helps the public better understand what is happening in China.
