1. [Beijing] Mr. Li Lanqiang Arrested and Detained

Mr. Li Lanqiang from the Fangshan District was reported to police when he distributed truth-clarifying materials. He was arrested by officers from the Xilu Police Station on the evening of April 23, 2021. He was later taken to the Fangshan Detention Center.

Mr. Li has been persecuted many times since the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong began in July 1999. He was subjected to forced labor twice in 2002 and in 2004. He was sentenced to three years in prison in 2016 and was released in April 2019.

2. [Bei’an City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Liu Haikang Sentenced to Four Years in Prison

Mr. Liu Haikang was tried online on November 12, 2020 and sentenced to four years in prison. He was taken to the Tailai Prison on April 26, 2021.

3. [Nong’an County, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Tried Online

Four practitioners including Ms. Zhang Xiuzhi, Mr. Lu Xiangfu, Mr. Feng Liqi, and Ms. Dong Xiuhui, were tried online by the Dehui Court on April 20, 2021.

4. [Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Chen Guangyun Faces Trial

Ms. Chen Guangyun was recorded by surveillance cameras in November when she posted truth-clarifying stickers and was arrested. She has been detained since then. It was learned yesterday that Ms. Chen will be tried in the Xiangzhou District Court at 9 a.m. on April 28, 2021.

5. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Sun Wenqing Tried in Court

Mr. Sun Wenqing was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong. He was arrested by officers from the Laobian District Police Department and the Liushu Town Police Station on April 21, 2020. He was placed under residential surveillance due to the pandemic.

Mr. Sun was taken to the Gaizhou City Detention Center in September or October 2020 and transferred to the Yingkou City Detention Center in 2021. His family has not been allowed to visit him or give him clothing for a long time. They were only allowed to deposit some money for him.

Mr. Sun was tried in the Zhanqian District Court on March 22, 2021.

6. [Qionghai City, Hainan Province] Mr. Zhao Fenghui Arrested and Detained

Mr. Zhao Fenghui was arrested by officers from the Railway Police Station on April 7, 2021. He was scheduled to be released on April 23, 2021 but his family was informed that he would continue being held. His family learned on April 26, 2021 that he had been transferred to an undisclosed location.

7. [Gaoyi County, Hebei Province] Seven Practitioners Harassed

Mr. Zhi Junli from Xixihan Village was harassed at home by two officers from the Wancheng Town Police Station on the afternoon of April 14, 2021. They asked if Mr. Zhi still practiced Falun Gong. Mr. Zhi’s daughter chased them out.

Two plainclothes police officers went to the home of Ms. Ping Xiufen in Tianjiazhuang Village on the afternoon of April 21, 2021. They asked if Ms. Ping still practiced Falun Gong.

Practitioners who live in Dongliangzhuang Village were harassed by village official Wu Junjie and two police officers on the afternoon of April 22. The practitioners are Mr. Zhang Jianchao, Ms. Feng Lixia, Mr. Jia Zhiqiang, and Ms. Wu Yuexia.

The police made a harassing call to Mr. Jia’s wife when no one was found at Mr Jia’s home. They checked and photographed every room in Ms. Feng’s home. Only Mr. Zhang Jianchao’s elderly mother, in her 80s, was at home. She was so terrified when the people came and searched her son’s home that she ran out of the house. After she was found and brought back home, she was so frightened that she couldn’t sleep or eat.

Ms. Li Xiugeng from Xidayi Village was harassed at home by Li Xiaokun, deputy secretary of the village Party committee around April 20, 2021. Ms. Li Xiugeng was photographed.

8. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Song Guizhi Arrested

Ms. Song Guizhi, 78, was arrested at her home in Huayuan Community, Sujiatun District. The police followed her daughter who came to see her and found her. Ms. Song is currently detained in a detention center.

9. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Practitioner Zhang Arrested

Practitioner Zhang (first name and gender unknown) from Nangang District was arrested around April 19-21, 2021. No other details are known.

10. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Ms. He Boqing Arrested

Ms. He Boqing from Yunji Community, around 70, was arrested on April 23, 2021. Her home was ransacked. The situation of her husband Geng is unknown.

11. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Harassed

Three officers from the Longhe Police Station came to harass Ms. Liu Naifeng and Ms. Zhang Xiu at their homes in late March 2021. They also made a harassing phone call to Ms. Guo Shuxin's daughter.

12. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Second Trial against Ms. Lin Lehong and Ms. Ma Yanping Postponed

Ms. Lin Leong and Ms. Ma Yanping were scheduled to be tried for the second time by the Yantian District Court at 2:15 p.m., April 26, 2021. The trial was delayed because of Ms. Li Lehong’s health condition.

13. [Fuyu City, Jilin Province] Mr. Wu Baochen Harassed

Mr. Wu Baochen was harassed at his workplace on April 10, 2021. Members of the Fuyu City and Taolaizhao Sub-district political and legal affairs committees, and Sun Xueli, director of Taolaizhao Sub-district Office, forcibly held Mr. Wu’s hand to sign on a paper that slandered Dafa. They later tried to make a copy of Mr. Wu’s ID card, which he refused.

14. [Huanggang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Juhua Monitored and Followed for a Long Time

Ms. Liu Juhua, 73, has been followed and monitored by officers from the Dongmen Police Station in Huangzhou District for a long time. One month before the celebration of National Day in 2019, a police car parked at the gate of his residential community and an officer sat in the security guard room every day. At night, the police car even drove into the community and parked right in front of the building where Ms. Liu lived. Ms. Liu’s personal freedom was threatened. She complained to the city and district political and legal committee but her efforts were in vain.

15. [Pingshan County, Hebei Province] Six Practitioners Harassed

Officers from the Pingshan Town Police Station harassed several practitioners at the beginning of April 2021, including three practitioners from Beibailou Village: Mr. Fu Erdong, Mr. Li Mihai, and Ms. Li Shuanhai; two practitioners from Hongzidian Village, Mr. Feng Tianxi, and Ms. Wang Lanting.

Ms. Liu Xinli from Zhongbailou Village was harassed at home by the village official. She was told that if the higher authorities came to check, she should say that she gave up practicing Falun Gong.

16. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Mr. Liu Haiquan Arrested

Six people in the Xianning District recently searched for New Tang Dynasty TV satellite receivers. They reported to police about Mr. Liu Haiquan who helped install the satellite receivers. Mr. Liu was arrested and detained in the local police station.

17. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Shubo Detained

Ms. Wang Shubo, originally from Yichun City, was arrested on the evening of February 20, 2021. She was detained in the Huanan County Detention House, but was transferred to the Jiamusi City Detention Center on March 18, 2021.

18. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Four Practitioners Harassed

Four practitioners, including Ms. Wang Fenglai, Ms. Wang Fengxia, Ms. Zhao Sulan, and Ms. Deng Guifang, who live in Badaohe Village, Badaohe Town of Qinglong County, were harassed at home by Wang Jihua, secretary of the village Party committee, and two officials from the Badaohe Town Government. They photographed the practitioners and asked if they still practiced Falun Gong.

19. [Haiyang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ji Xiuling Harassed

Ms. Ji Xiuling from Niugenshu Village, Xiaoji Town, stayed in her daughter’s home to take care of her grandchildren. She received a harassing call on April 23, 2021. She was told that people from the Haiyang Police Department and the Xiaoji Town Political and Legal Affairs Committee would come to her daughter’s home to photograph her and to press her to sign a guarantee statement. Since her daughter has been harassed for years and could no longer handle it, Ms. Ji left her daughter’s home.

20. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Yun Arrested

Ms. Li Yun was arrested on the way from her workplace to her home on April 25, 2021. Further details are unknown.

21. [Chongqing] Mr. Xie Jin Harassed

Mr. Xie Jin was harassed at his workplace, Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications on April 25, 2021. He was called in by officers from the Nanshan Road Police Station in Nan’an District and the local police station near the university and was asked if he still practiced Falun Gong.

22. [Qianxi County, Hebei Province] Ms. Chai Shuzhen Harassed

Ms. Chai Shuzhen, in her 70s, was imprisoned for one year, and was released in January 2021. She has been constantly harassed by people from the local sub-district office and the community office since she returned her home. The staff members from the local community office came to her home on April 19, 2021. After they found out she was not at home, they called her son and told him that they would stop by the next day. The next morning, four people from the local community office and one from the Justice Bureau came. Under pressure, her son signed something on his mother's behalf.

23. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Yu Chunbo Persecuted and Hospitalized Again

Mr. Yu Chunbo and his wife Ms. Li Fengxia (non-practitioner) were arrested at home on November 12, 2020. Mr. Yu is still detained.

Mr. Yu’s family received a call from a guard in the No. 2 Detention Center on January 13, 2021. They were told that Mr. Yu had been hospitalized. He was returned to the detention center in mid-February 2021. However, his family received a call again on April 23, 2021 and was informed that Mr. Yu had been hospitalized again on April 22, 2021.

24. [Gongyi City, Henan Province] Mr. Zhao Songmao Arrested

Mr. Zhao Songmao from Zhanjie Town was arrested at around 6:30 a.m. on April 16, 2021, and his home was ransacked. His personal belongings including his computer, Falun Gong books, and truth-clarifying materials were confiscated. Mr. Zhao is detained in the Baitupo Detention House.

25. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Guiying Persecuted

Ms. Li Guiying, 54, from Luyuan District, used to work in the Institute of Agricultural Sciences. She was arrested on October 25, 2016 and was later sentenced to four years in prison by the Luyuan District Court on July 13, 2017. She was detained in the Jilin Women’s Prison and was released on October 25, 2020.

Ms. Li Guiying went to the Institute of Agricultural Sciences to inquire about her retirement pension. Dean Li Shaowen told her that she was fired when she was sentenced to prison. Her 34 years of service could not be counted towards her retirement pension.

26. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Fan Zhen Harassed

Two plainclothes officers in Fuping County came to Ms. Fan Zhen’s home on April 20, 2021. They took out a piece of paper and said, “We confiscated something from your home last year. You sign it and we'll hand it over to the procuratorate, and we will be off the case.” Ms. Fan refused to sign it.

27. [Tianjin] Ms. Zhu Mei Tried Online

Ms. Zhu Mei from Binhai New District was arrested by officers in Jingnan District on September 24, 2019. Her home was ransacked. Many of her personal belongs were confiscated.

Ms. Zhu was tried online in the Dongli Detention Center on the afternoon of April 22, 2021.

28. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Mr. Sun Zhiwen Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Sun Zhiwen was arrested on February 4, 2020 for posting truth-clarifying stickers. Zhang Bo, head of the Yongji County 610 Office, led some people to Mr. Sun’s parents’ home around Chinese New Year in 2021. They pressured his parents to sign a guarantee statement on his behalf and claimed that they would be allowed to see their son if they cooperated. According to Zhang Bo, Mr. Sun was sentenced to four and a half years in prison. Mr. Sun’s parents still don’t know where he is detained.

29. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Geng Shemei Harassed

Several officers including Peng Yingying from the Bokou Township of Wei County went to Ms. Geng Shemei’s home on the afternoon of April 26 2021. Since no one was at home, they called Ms. Geng’s husband and told him that his wife should come to the local police station.

30. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Jianrong Harassed

Four officers from the Xi Police Station in Huilai County went to Ms. Liu Jianrong’s home on the morning of April 26, 2021. Ms. Liu’s husband (non-practitioner) was at home. The police asked whether there were any printers in their home. They also recorded all the family members’ car plate numbers and the cell phone numbers.

31. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Gangli Detained

Ms. Liu Gangli from Tiexi District has been detained in the No. 1 Detention Center for more than four months. Her lawyer recently visited her and said she was fine.

32. [Chongqing] Case Against Ms. Li Yamin Submitted to the Procuratorate

Ms. Li Yamin, 67, from the Dadukou District, was arrested by officers from the Daping Police Station in Yuzhong District on November 8, 2020. Her home was ransacked, and she was later officially arrested. It was learned that her case was submitted to the Jiulongpo District Procuratorate.

Ms. Li is currently being detained in the Chongqing Detention Center.

33. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Wu Chun Faces Trial

Wu Chun (gender unknown) was arrested by officers from the Desheng Street Police Station in Lushun City on December 10, 2020. Wu Chun is detained in the Dalian Detention Center and is scheduled to be tried in the Ganjing District Court on April 30, 2021.

34. [Chongqing] Ms. Cheng Degui Harassed

Ms. Cheng Degui, in her 70s, was harassed at home by three officers from the Lishi Town Police Station in Jiangjin District on April 24, 2021. They asked if Ms. Cheng still practiced Falun Gong. They rummaged around and took photos. They found a few articles written by Falun Gong’s founder.

35. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Xiurong Imprisoned

Ms. Liu Xiurong from Zichuan District was sentenced to three years and six months in prison on August 1, 2019. She was detained in the Zibo City Detention Center until she was transferred to the Shandong Province Women’s Prison in April 2021.

36. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Mulan Taken to Hubei Province Women's Prison

Ms. Liu Mulan, 56, was arrested on October 16, 2019. She was sentenced to four years and fined 4,000 yuan by the Hanyang District Court in late January 2021. It was confirmed on April 19, 2021 that she was taken to the Hubei Province Women's Prison after her appeal was rejected by the intermediate court.

Prior to her latest term, Ms. Liu was imprisoned for a total of 4.5 years. She was arrested three times in 1999 for going to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong. She was given one year of forced labor in 2001 and sentenced to three and a half years in 2011. While serving time at the Guangdong Province Women's Prison, she was force fed with toxic drugs.

37. [Huainan City, Anhui Province] Ms. Xia Zehong's Prison Term Reduced to Five Years

After Ms. Xia Zehong, 57, appealed to the Huainan City Intermediate Court against a six-year term for practicing Falun Gong, a higher court judge recently reduced the term by one year.

38. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ma Fengju Taken to Liaoning Province Women's Prison

Ms. Ma Fengju, 50, was sentenced to 2.5 years and fined 8,000 yuan in September 2020. She was taken to the Liaoning Province Women's Prison in March 2021 and is now held in the second ward.

39. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Married Couple Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Qian Gentai and his wife Ms. Zhang Xingji were arrested in late August 2019, after receiving money from their daughter who lives in South Korea. The authorities accused them of colluding with foreign forces. It was recently confirmed that both of them have been sentenced to 2.5 years by the Erdao District Court.

40. [Gaozhou City, Guangdong Province] Police Tear Off the Wall Decoration Outside of Ms. Li Jianying’s Home

A group of police officers and residential committee staff members went to 61-year-old Ms. Li Jianying’s home on April 22, 2021 and tore off the wall decoration and couplets outside of her home. The day before, three officers went to Ms. Li’s neighbors and tried to collect information about her.
