(Minghui.org) In the last week of the spring semester and one week before final exams, the Falun Dafa practice group at Ohio State University hosted the Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance International Art Exhibition on campus.
Students, professors, staff members and local residents came to view the artworks during the five-day event. Tina Husted, wife of the Lieutenant Governor of Ohio, also came to see the exhibition. With the pandemic under better control and restrictions on many activities lifted, the art exhibition brought hope and wonder to many patrons.
The artworks depict the touching experiences of Falun Dafa practitioners, millions of whom have been brutally persecuted for their faith by the communist regime in China.
Elisa and her boyfriend David carefully read each description of the paintings. Elisa is a painter and made a special trip to see the exhibition. She said she felt an energy field and a determination from the paintings, adding that each painting was beautiful and mesmerizing.
David said he was deeply attracted by each character portrayed in the paintings. He said the artists are extraordinary people with great painting skills.
Neither Elisa nor David was aware of the persecution of Falun Dafa. “This is unbelievable, the Chinese Communist Party is too evil,” Elisa said. They said that they would tell their family and friends about Falun Dafa.
Miya and Hikari appreciate the painting Turning The Universe
Miya and her Japanese classmate, Hikari, are students from a Chinese class that came to see the art exhibition. They were especially fond of the painting Turning The Universe.
Hikari said, “This art exhibition teaches us many things not seen in textbooks, such as how some Chinese people firmly believe in their faith and human rights issues. This exhibition deepens my understanding of traditional Chinese culture and values. Thank you very much.”
Anthony likes the painting Entering the Divine Realm with Purity
Another visitor, Anthony, said he could see posters advertising the exhibition almost everywhere on campus. “I have seen it at least four times,” he said.
Anthony pointed to the painting A Tragedy in China and said, “Seeing this girl’s expression on the poster each time, I felt very touched. I had to come visit this exhibition and I will also bring my children.”
Anthony stood for a while in front of each painting and asked practitioners about the persecution of Falun Dafa in China. He said the injustices and inhumane persecution are caused by a corrupt society, and what was even more heartbreaking for him was that even children are targeted.
A Chinese couple who are professors came to visit the exhibition on the third day. While talking with Falun Dafa practitioners, they brought up the historic appeal in Beijing by Falun Dafa practitioners on April 25, 1999, and the CCP’s persecution of Falun Dafa. The husband said he had been following human rights issues in China, and his wife said she’d always wanted to buy a copy of the book Zhuan Falun, the main book of Falun Dafa.
Many students stated that they were not aware of the CCP’s brutality. Many people thanked practitioners for bringing the exhibition to campus, and some visitors wanted to learn Falun Dafa.
