(Minghui.org) Police and residential committee staff members harassed seven Falun Gong practitioners in Yueyang City, Hunan Province in May 2021 and ordered the practitioners to renounce their faith.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
A group of officers went to 77-year-old Ms. Fu Dongxiu’s home on May 8, 2021 and attempted to remove the photo of Falun Gong’s founder from her wall. She resisted and the officers threatened to come back again.
This was the second time that Ms. Fu had been harassed within a month. During an earlier harassment on April 12, the officers searched every room of her home and confiscated all of her Falun Gong decorations. The officers attempted to take away the photo of Falun Gong’s founder, but were stopped by Ms. Fu.
Another practitioner, Ms. Li Yulian, was harassed on May 13, 2021. The officers tried to take a photo of her upon entering her home. She didn’t comply and went into her room and locked the door. The officers left soon after. This was the second time she had been harassed in the past month, following an earlier incident on April 21.
Mr. Zhu Musong, who had also been harassed in April, was harassed again on May 25. The police asked him whether he still practiced Falun Gong and video recorded him. They left after staying at his home for about ten minutes.
A group of officers knocked on Ms. Fu Fanggui’s door on May 26. As she wasn’t home, the police went to her son’s place and asked him whether she was there, and what she has been doing. They then returned to Ms. Fu’s place, and still no one opened the door for them. They asked her neighbors whether she had gone out recently to distribute Falun Gong materials. Her neighbors said they didn’t notice her going out and condemned the police for frequently harassing her.
Another two practitioners, Han Youwen and Chen Pingping, were also harassed in May.
