(Minghui.org) Traditional Chinese culture believes “Good is rewarded, and evil is punished.” When one follows his or her conscience to support the innocent, blessings will follow.
This phenomenon has often been seen during the persecution of Falun Dafa, a meditation system that is based on the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. When a person chooses to support Dafa practitioners during the harsh suppression, he or she may encounter miracles.
Here I am sharing what my extended family in Wuhan, Hubei Province has experienced during the pandemic. Although my husband and I currently work in another city, my husband’s brother and my own brother and sister still live in Wuhan. When the pandemic arrived, many things unfolded...
Story of My Brother-in-law’s Family
On January 26, 2020 (the day after the Chinese New Year and three days after Wuhan was locked down), I received a phone call at work from my husband’s brother’s son. Both our nephew and his parents live in Wuhan.
Over the phone, my nephew asked where we placed the keys to our apartment in Wuhan.
“Your uncle [my husband] has brought all the keys with us, so none of them are in Wuhan now,” I replied, “But, is everything all right on your side?” “We... are okay,” he said and greeted me with a Happy New Year. He then hung up the phone after a few words.
When I returned home for lunch, my husband said his brother had called him. I asked if the call was around 8 a.m. when I received a call from our nephew. My husband said it was about that time. So it seemed our nephew and his father both tried to reach us.
My husband recalled his conversation with his brother.
His brother urgently asked my husband for the nine things we mentioned to him and his family when we returned to Wuhan for a visit a while back.
My husband was confused and had no clue about the nine things. His brother then said it was the nine things that could save people from danger. It dawned on my husband that his brother was talking about the Nine True Words that make up two phrases: fa-lun-da-fa-hao (Falun Dafa is good) and zhen-shan-ren-hao (Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good).
My husband said our city had been put on lockdown too so there was no way we could return to Wuhan to deliver charm amulets with the Nine True Words. But then my husband realized he could text the Nine True Words to his brother through WeChat (a popular social media platform in China).
After my husband and I discussed the two phone calls, we suspected someone in his brother’s family may have been infected with the coronavirus. Having practiced Falun Dafa and benefited from it, my husband and I knew we would be fine. And we also hoped the best for his brother’s family.
My husband’s brother called us again about ten days later. He said officials had demanded his entire family be tested. When asked why, he disclosed what had happened earlier. The day when he and his son called us, his wife had become terribly ill with the same symptoms as coronavirus infection.
They had thought to have her quarantine in our apartment in Wuhan, which is why our nephew asked for the key to our apartment. Since we didn’t leave any keys with our extend family in Wuhan, our sister-in-law quarantined at her own home but got reported to officials a few days later. She was thus taken to a hospital and then tested positive. Her whole family was then ordered to get tested.
“It’s okay if officials want all of you tested – there is no need to worry about it,” my husband said.
“Agree,” his brother replied. He said his entire family had been reciting the Nine True Words in those days.
“I have to apologize that I did not know much about Falun Dafa in the past and even said some bad words,” he continued, “Now I know practitioners are good, innocent people. It is the CCP officials that committed sins by persecuting citizens who want to be good people.”
About three weeks later, he called us again and sounded very happy. “All six of us are back home now. We are all safe!” he added, “Thank you so much for telling us those words; otherwise, our family would be over.”
Three Phone Calls with My Sister
On the 2020 Chinese New Year Day (January 25), I called my sister Hui, wishing her and her two daughters well.
“You know the city [of Wuhan] was already locked down,” I suggested, “Maybe you can keep in mind ‘Falun Dafa is good’ and ‘Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good’ for your safety.”
“Haha, that’s funny,” Hui dismissed my advice and said, “Sis, you know I am a teacher and I only believe in medical science. Tell me something I am interested in.”
I thought about the topic of recent scientific advancement on the relationship between mind and body, but then sensed it may not be a good time to bring it up. So I said goodbye to my sister and hung up the phone.
Several days later, another practitioner visited me and I brought up my phone call with my sister. She suggested I call Hui again, and I replied it could be a waste of time. Nonetheless, I still dialed Hui’s number anyway.
After a long a pause, I heard Hui saying on the other end of the phone line, “Okay... thank you.” And she hung up.
Several days passed and one night I dreamed of Hui. Upon waking up, I called her the third time.
“Hey! Please thank Falun Dafa and Master Li (founder of Falun Dafa) for me,” she said with excitement.
“What happened?” I asked.
It turned out that when I called Hui the second time, she was severely ill. The symptoms were coronavirus infection and she was on the verge of death.
“I was so weak that I could hardly hold the phone or speak,” she explained, “That was why I only spoke a few words.”
“So, how did you recover?” I asked.
“It was your advice,” she replied.
She explained that since there were no better ways at the time, she and her two daughters kept reciting the Nine True Words I recommended. And she gradually recovered.
Hui also revealed that our brother had also been infected, but recovered by reciting the Nine True Words.
“Now I know how valuable ‘Falun Dafa is good’ and ‘Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good’ are,” she explained, “It is so amazing! No wonder you practitioners would not give it up no matter what.”
