(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 20 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 42 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Ruijun Sentenced to Three and a Half Years
Ms. Zhang Ruijun from the Zhangdian District was sentenced to three and a half years on June 23, 2021. Ms. Zhang appealed her case. During the physical exam her children learned that she had a contagious disease. She was detained alone and was not allowed to contact anyone. She was in poor health and was unable to sleep or eat well.
2. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Lichao Persecuted in Prison
Ms. Liu Lichao, in her 50s, was detained in the No. 3 Ward of the Liaoning Province Women’s Prison. She was often beaten and punished by being made to squat by the inmates who were assigned to watch her. Her entire body was ulcerated due to the persecution and she is now hospitalized.
3. [Shanghai] Ms. Zhang Yi Under 24-hour Surveillance
Ms. Zhang Yi has been under 24-hour surveillance since June 25, 2021. People assigned by the Ganquan Police Station in Putuo District work 12-hour shifts to monitor her.
4. [Beijing] Mr. Wang Shuxiang and Mr. Zhang Hongru Arrested
Mr. Wang Shuxiang and Mr. Zhang Hongru were recently arrested by officers from the Jingshan Police Station.
5. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Bai Chunxiu Harassed
Officer Bao Wencheng and others from the Enyu Township Police Station went to the home of Ms. Bai Chunxiu’s parent around June 23, 2021 again. Bao told Ms. Bai’s brother that they would stop coming if Ms. Bai signed a guarantee statement.
6. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ma Fei Arrested
Ma Fei (gender unknown) was arrested at Ma’s parent’s home by officers from the Jiuzhan Police Station on the evening of June 15, 2021. Ma was placed under 15-day detention and was taken to the Xiaobaishan Prison on June 16, 2021. Ma’s home was ransacked. Ma's Dafa books and truth-clarifying materials were confiscated.
7. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Ma Li Harassed
Four people, including Zhang Bo from the Yongji County 610 Office, Liu Shuiyong from the Xiyang Town Government, and the two officers from the Xiyang Town Police Station went to Ms. Ma Li’s home on June 22, 2021. Ms. Ma was pressured to sign a guarantee statement, which she refused. They searched her home and confiscated all of her Dafa books. Ms. Ma tried to stop them and passed out, with blood spurting from her mouth. She was taken to a hospital and was found to have high blood pressure, as high as 197.
Four officers, including Xin Liming from the Xiyang Police Station, returned to Ms. Ma’s home the following morning, June 23, 2021. They conducted a so-called verification of the evidence, intending to put Ms. Ma in prison.
8. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Wang Tianyi Arrested
Mr. Wang Tianyi from the Shunqing District, in his 20s, is the son of Ms. Huang Yeping, who is currently in prison. Mr. Wang, his older sister and an elderly relative traveled by train to visit their hometown in Guang’an City on June 14, 2021. They were arrested in the Guang’an Railway Station. When they searched Mr. Wang, the police found some truth-clarifying materials. He was sent to have a physical examination in the Guang’an People’s Hospital and was found to have a thyroid tumor. He was denied admission by the Guang’an Detention Center. The elderly relative was released on the same day because of high blood pressure. His sister was released the next day.
Mr. Wang was taken to the Jiulong Detention Center in Chongqing City on June 16, 2021. He was taken to have another examination in a hospital in Chongqing City and the diagnosis showed the same result, a thyroid tumor. He was denied admission by the Jiulong Detention Center.
He was sent to a hospital in Nanchong City for further examination and the results showed that the tumor was malignant. He was released on bail pending trial for one year on June 16, 2021.
9. [Linshui County, Sichuan Province] Mr. Gao Hai Harassed
Staff members from the Chengbei Community came to Mr. Gao Hai’s home on May 20, 2021. Mr. Gao’s wife refused to let them in. They met Mr. Gao on the stairs when he was returning home from work. They pressured him to sign the three statements, which he refused to do.
10. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Wang Shengpei Harassed
Wang Shengpei (gender unknown) lives in the Quangou Village, Mengyang Town. Five people, including the village grid man Yang Ying, the village secretary of the Party committee Zhang Changxiong, village official Gao Sirong, and guard Han Honglun, went to Wang’s home on the afternoon of June 18, 2021. They pressured Wang to sign a guarantee statement and threatened him/her, saying that his/her children and grandchildren would be implicated if Wang refused.
11. [Rongcheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ge Peizhen and Mr. Cong Peijun Arrested
Ms. Ge Peizhen and her husband Mr. Cong Peijun from Chengshan Town were arrested at home by several police officers just after they returned from a morning market on June 24, 2021. The police claimed that the couple distributed truth-clarifying materials in the market. The couple was taken to the Chengshan Police Station. They refused to cooperate and were taken to a hospital to undergo a physical examination. The police took them back to their home and ransacked it that afternoon. One Dafa book was confiscated. The police left around 2 p.m.
12. [Xinyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Bai Yuzhen and Ms. Jin Yuling Arrested
Ms. Bai Yuzhen, 76, and Ms. Jin Yuling 59, were arrested by officers from the Gongqu Road Police Station and the Xinyang City Domestic Security Division on June 22, 2021. Their homes were ransacked.
13. [Xihua County, Henan Province] Retired Policeman Mr. Zhang Sixin Arrested and Detained
Mr. Zhang Sixin, in his 60s, is a retired officer. He was recently arrested and detained.
14. [Jingzhou City, Hubei Province] Mr. Li Xingjun and His Wife Sentenced to Seven Years in Prison
Mr. Li Xingjun and his wife were sentenced to seven years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan.
15. [Chongqing] Ms. Yu Dehui Arrested
Ms. Yu Dehui from the Yongchang District was arrested in her hometown, Yongchuan City around noon on June 24, 2021. Her daughter brought the police officers from Chongqing City to her hometown and found her. Ms. Yu was taken to the People’s Hospital of Chongqing City. It is unknown where she is currently detained.
16. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Harassed
Over-80-year-old Teng Zhenyin was harassed at home by officers from the Bolan Police Station in Pulandian multiple times. The police confiscated Teng's Dafa books.
Ms. Wu Yueju was harassed at home by Zhang Liang from the Wanda Police Station in Panlandian on June 24, 2021. Officer Zhang tried to take Ms. Wu to get a physical exam. Ms. Wu returned home the same day.
Zhou Yufan (gender unknown) received multiple harassing calls from officer Huo.
17. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Harassed
Officials from the Jiahe Town government and officers from the Jiahe Town Police Station came to harass over-80-year-old He Xinli (gender unknown) in April 2021. He Xinli was pressured to sign a guarantee statement. He passed away 20 days later.
Ms. Wang Lijun and Ms. Ge Shumin were arrested by officers from the Jiahe Police Station in April or May 2020. They were interrogated and released later that day after being fined 500 yuan. Later Ms. Wang was placed under 10-day detention.
Ms. Wang was harassed constantly by officers from the Jiahe Police Station in April and May 2021. She was pressured to sign a guarantee statement. She was told that her name would be removed from the CCP's black list if she signed and they would leave her alone.
Ms. Wang was informed on May 7, 2021 that she would be detained starting on May 10, 2021. Ms. Wang had to leave home to avoid further persecution. Her family-owned supermarket was unable to operate normally.
18. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yu Hailan's and Ms. Yu Haiping's Pensions Suspended
Ms. Yu Hailan and her younger sister Ms. Yu Haiping were arrested on April 24, 2018 and were later sentenced to prison. Ms. Yu Hailan was sentenced to two years and six months and fined 5000 yuan; Ms. Yu Haiping, to one year and six months. They were released on October 23, 2021 and October 23, 2019 respectively.
Their pensions were suspended by the social security department of Fushun City.
19. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Jia Chunfeng Faces Trial
Ms. Jia Chunfeng will be tried in the No. 8 Hall, Shuangta District Court on June 29, 2021.
20. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Weizhong Arrested
Mr. Wang Weizhong from Gaotai Town, Tiexi New District, was arrested by five police officers on June 23, 2021.
21. [Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Cui Rong Arrested
Ms. Cui Rong was arrested by two local officers when she was walking out of her home on June 24, 2021. She was taken to the local police station and was pressured to sign the three statements, which she refused. She was released the same day.
22. [Chongqing] Tian Jingzhi Arrested and Detained
Tian Jingzhi (gender unknown) from Nan’an District was arrested along with two other practitioners by officers from the Tianmen Police Station on May 7, 2021 when Tian went to buy goods in a wholesale market in Shizhong District for the family-owned shop. Tian’s home was ransacked. Her Dafa books and laptop were confiscated. Tian was placed under 15-day detention.
Several days later after Tian was released, several plainclothes officers came to Tian's home and pressed him/her to sign the five statements, which Tian refused to do.
23. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Seven Practitioners Tried in Court
Seven practitioners were tried online by the Hulu District Court on June 22, 2021. They are Mr. Li Lizhuang, Ms. Tang Zhuyin, Mr. Huo Xiaohui, Ms. Ding Yan, Ms. Zhao Lihua, Ms. Jiao Qihua, and Ms. Li Yanqing. The entire process was illegal. For example, Mr. Li Lizhuang was not allowed to defend himself. The judge ordered that his microphone be taken away. Two guards stood on each side, holding his shoulders and immobilizing him.
24. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wu Xi Arrested and Detained
Ms. Wu Xi was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong in the street. She was arrested by officers from the Shangzhi Police Station in the Daoli District on May 20, 2021. The police found truth-clarifying materials and USB drives in her bag. Ms. Wu was detained in the Harbin Detention House on May 21, 2021. Her younger sister was contacted by the Shangzhi Police Station and told to pick up Ms. Wu on June 4, 2021. However, when her family went to the detention house on June 4, they were told that Ms. Wu would be detained longer and might be sentenced to jail.
25. [Hailin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Fu Zhaocui and Mr. Fu Pengchong Arrested
Twelve officers from the No.2 Police Station and the Hailin Police Department went to Ms. Fu Zhaocui’s home around 3:30 a.m., June 10, 2021. They ransacked her home and confiscated many personal belongings, even including the tablet computer that her child used for online classes. The police tried to arrest Ms. Fu Zhaocui and her younger brother Mr. Fu Pengchong. Since their mother was lying in bed and needed help, the police contacted two people from the local community, but the mother insisted that her son stay home and take care of her. They took away Ms. Fu Zhaocui.
Ms. Fu Zhaocui was interrogated in the police station until midnight that day. She was taken to the Mudanjiang Detention Center, but was denied admission because of her poor health. She was released on bail pending trial on June 11, 2021.
