(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners in Switzerland held activities in front of the Chinese Consulate and on Kornhausplatz in Bern on July 24, 2021, to mark the 22nd year of the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) persecution of their faith. Several parliament members sent letters of support for the event. Many local residents stopped to sign a petition calling for an end to the persecution.

A Falun Gong practitioner read a letter addressed to the Chinese Consulate's employees, detailing the numerous crimes the CCP has committed and advising them to quit their CCP memberships to avoid being held accountable in the future.

Many people stopped to watch the practitioners demonstrate the Falun Gong exercises. Some copied the exercise movements and learned about the benefits of Falun Gong, its principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and the persecution in China, including the CCP’s state-sanctioned organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners.

Some people talked with practitioners for a long time. Some asked about the group exercise time and location, and said they planned to learn the exercises. Many signed a petition calling to stop the persecution.

Thomas, an IT professional, was sad to hear about the CCP’s organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners. “It’s hard to imagine anything more cruel than this,” he said. He said Western countries have done business with China without paying attention to human rights, which signaled to the CCP that it could continue to do what it wished.

Gisela, a yoga teacher, became interested in the Falun Gong exercises. She signed the petition and said, “What’s happening in China is a human rights scandal beyond the extreme.”

Valerie and Glenda, two college students, signed the petition and talked with a practitioner to learn more about the persecution. They were astonished by the CCP’s brutality in this modern age and thanked practitioners for their work to spread the information. Glenda said the CCP “must stop” its persecution of Falun Gong.

Lisa Mayer, a social worker from Germany, signed the petition and told a practitioner, “The persecution is a crime that violates human rights. You can’t detain people, torture them, and even persecute them to death because of what they do to improve their health. This goes against human rights conventions and should be stopped.”

Two women told practitioners that they were fascinated by the good energy they felt from practitioners. After hearing more about Falun Gong, they wanted to join the group exercises in the Rose Garden.
