(Minghui.org) As COVID-19 cases declined, the government of Taiwan relaxed restrictions and allowed indoor masked gatherings of up to 50 people. Falun Dafa practitioners in central Taiwan held a group Fa study and experience sharing meeting in Xiluo Township, Yunlin on August 21, 2021.
Practitioners met in central Taiwan on August 21, 2021 to read the Falun Dafa teachings and exchange experiences.
College professor and Falun Dafa practitioner Jun Min talked about how he eliminated his fundamental attachments by paying attention to his fleeting thoughts. He said, “If I allow myself to relax, a minor attachment can grow. For example, I felt that taking another glance at a beautiful woman was my appreciation of beautiful people, but the real reason was lust. When I searched further and deeper, I found my attachments, and eliminated them one by one. Looking back, I realized that when I ignored my fleeting thoughts in the past it helped breed my attachments. Now I identify them, and correct myself as soon as I find any inappropriate thoughts.”
Jun Min said that after completely eliminating his lust by looking within and correcting himself, he felt pure-minded, and enjoyed the wonderful feeling of being uplifted.
Xiaofang talked about how an incident helped her identify some hidden attachments. She forgot to bring her cell phone with her when she went to another practitioner’s home to learn how to use it. Xiaofang hurriedly drove back home to pick up the phone, and raced through several yellow traffic lights. By reflecting on her anxiety, Xiaofang found her attachments to comfort and showing off. She realized that she was eager to finish her tasks, so that she could go back home to rest. However, the practitioner who demonstrated how to use the phones had to drive a long distance. He arrived early and stayed late to make sure everyone understood how to use the phones. When Xiaofang compared her behavior to that practitioner’s she saw where she needed to improve.
She looked within, eliminated her attachments, and experienced a wonderful feeling of solid cultivation. She said with a big smile, “My genuine assimilation to the Fa brought changes to my realm and my environment. My family life became more harmonious. Everything around me seems to be beautiful! I realize that looking within and eliminating attachments aren’t hard—the only obstacle was my reluctance to identify my attachments and change myself.”
Sufen said that her strong wish to make a breakthrough in her cultivation inspired her to participate in the meeting. “I used to have wrong notions. I thought cultivation was cultivation, and everyday life was everyday life. I now realize that everything in my life is a part of cultivation. I learned to measure myself with Master’s teachings in anything I encounter in life. Looking within has finally helped me find the bottleneck. I was blocked my own wrong notions. I’m no longer afraid of talking about my cultivation experiences. After broadening my mind I can now talk openly about my understanding of the Fa.”
Jialin, another practitioner, shared her understanding about emotion. “Whenever I heard fellow practitioners mention their sentimental attachment to their families and children, I felt like I was entering a dimension filled with emotion. I even saw images of them worrying or being sad. I got involved in their emotions. When I looked within I found I wasn’t aware of my own feelings about my children. I was enveloped in emotion but I didn’t even realize it.
“I’ve done a lot of things for fellow practitioners, thinking that what I did benefited them, and they would cultivate themselves diligently. However, I realized I actually did these things out of selfishness. What I thought would be good for them ended up hurting them. I realized that I needed to consider things from their perspective, and instead become compassionate and tolerant.”
