(Minghui.org) I was delighted when I was invited to help with a new project—the Window of Minghui website. The Minghui.org website has been my spiritual pillar throughout my 22 years of cultivation, so I wanted to participate in this project years ago. I happily agreed and embarked on a new cultivation journey.

I worked on the commentary section, but I soon found it challenging. Window of Minghui has a high standard, and its requirements are very different from those of other media.

I worked on a commentary article written by a practitioner in China. The original article was very long—more than 19,000 words. Still, the logic was relatively smooth, so I finished the draft with great confidence.

The editor revised my draft, and we both felt that we did a good job. We submitted the article and thought it could play a good role in saving sentient beings. However, it turned out that this article could not be published. We were surprised to hear this and felt a little frustrated. We were later told that the website could not use our article because some of the content could be construed as political and was not purely compassionate.

Consider Others with a Pure and Compassionate Heart

At first, I didn’t understand what political factors the article had or what pure compassion was.

Master said,

“If you can always be compassionate and calm, you will handle the issues that arise in your life well since you will have a buffer, in a sense. Things will work out well if you are always compassionate and good to others, thoughtful towards people, and handle whatever situations you get into with people by first pausing to consider how well your actions will go over with the other party and whether anyone will be hurt by them.” (The Fourth Talk, Zhuan Falun)

Whenever I read this, I always glossed over the phrase “if you are always compassionate and good to others.” I forgot this part again this time. When the article was rejected, I realized that I really did not think much about other people.

I usually did whatever I wanted, and this mentality was reflected in my writing. I was not compassionate to the readers, nor was I considerate of them. I only wrote whatever I wanted. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has severely brainwashed Chinese people, so they are sensitive to some words and tones. I would be pushing them away if the tone in my writing was not compassionate.

I was happy when I identified my attachment, and I understood how to improve my writing.

I also discussed this issue with practitioners and understood that the most important facet of Window of Minghui is to clarify the truth about Falun Dafa. The old forces arranged many chaotic world events to distract people from focusing on the persecution of Falun Dafa. However, as practitioners, we should not be driven by these things.

Standing Side by Side with Persecuted Practitioners

Once I was moved to tears while working on an article about a practitioner who had been severely persecuted. The story was difficult to read. In addition, the original article was very long and included many trivial details. However, thanks to Master’s blessing and practitioners’ help, I found another article with the information I needed, and I finished the piece smoothly.

Some practitioners had already been persecuted to death when I wrote about their stories. However, while writing their stories, whether they were alive or not, I felt that they were just beside me and were saving sentient beings together with me.

Removing Negative Thoughts about Other Practitioners

I was not familiar with the other team members, but I noticed the names of some that I worked with before in other projects. I had some negative thoughts about them, so I had an unpleasant reaction when I saw their names.

I looked inward and found my attachment of jealousy. I measured practitioners with my own standard, so I subconsciously looked down on them.

Master said,

“Since human beings have qing, being upset is qing, so are happiness, love, hatred, enjoying doing one thing, resenting doing another thing, preferring one person to another, hobbies, and dislikes. Everything belongs to qing, and everyday people just live for it.” (Lecture Six, Zhuan Falun)

I realized that I was judging other practitioners from the perspective of qing, so my staring point was selfish. As practitioners, we should remove qing and selfishness. We should think of others first and treat everyone with compassion.

I can be unconditionally compassionate when I tell people about Dafa and the persecution, so why can’t I treat practitioners the same way? Isn’t it even more important for practitioners to help each other unconditionally? That is the standard for Falun Dafa practitioners during the Fa-rectification period.

Conclusion

After I wrote this article, I was in a state of compassion. I felt my selfishness was gone and Dafa’s compassionate energy surrounded me. I want to thank Master for encouraging me to write this article. I would like to encourage other practitioners to walk the final path of cultivation well.
