(Minghui.org) After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) usurped power in 1949, my family was evicted from their ancestral home due to my grandfather’s status as a landlord. My grandparents passed away, with my biological father and elder brother following suit from illness not long after. My mother remarried and I was given up for adoption by an elderly peasant couple.
I spent most of my childhood doing chores, such as cutting grass, collecting firewood and manure. My adoptive mother frequently beat and scolded me. I envied my companions who were my age. They enjoyed a normal, carefree childhood while I was forced to work as an adult. Despite my harsh upbringing, my adoptive parents still sent me to school. In 1976, I entered a university and got a job in the city after graduation.
I had hoped for a happy marriage. However, disaster soon struck in the form of chronic illnesses. My existing conditions, such as gastritis, osteoarthritis, and malaria kept resurfacing. At the same time, I had to contend with new illnesses, such as rheumatoid arthritis, headaches, hepatitis, cholecystitis, gynecological diseases, cardiac conditions, anemia, thrombocytopenia and kidney infections. My worsening health caused a rift in my relationship with my husband. In March 1992, I traveled to Shenzhen in search of a cure.
In March 1993, I came across a newspaper article about a conference organized by the National Qigong Association. Various qigong practices would be introduced at the Shenzhen Municipal Committee auditorium. I had practiced many kinds of qigong, to no effect. However, since many national-level qigong masters would attend this conference I thought I might find a cure for my illnesses.
The first night I saw a qigong master performing occult healing treatment. The treatment was exactly as Master described in Zhuan Falun:
“What will he do if your arm aches? He will begin to chant incantations while asking you to hold out your arms. He will give a puff to the hegu point of this hand of yours and have it exit from the hegu point of your other hand. You will feel a waft of air, and when you touch your arm, it will not feel as painful as before.” (Lecture Five, Zhuan Falun)
This amazing performance bolstered my confidence. China had so many different qigong practices, surely one could cure my illnesses.
The following night, I attended the conference with two colleagues from my part-time job. When a tall, handsome young qigong master stepped up to the podium, the audience immediately stood up and began wildly applauding. I also applauded. After we sat down, he said, “I’ll only teach principles of the Fa today. I won’t do any performances...” At this point, I fell sound asleep. After some time, my colleague roused me from my slumber.
I opened my eyes to find everyone in the audience on their feet. I also quickly stood up, only to hear the master say, “I will cure one illness for each of you. Hold in your mind the illness you want to be cured. Those who have no illnesses can think of a family member and the disease you want them to be cured of. Then on the count of three, stomp your right feet together.” At that time, my liver disease was the most severe, so I thought about that illness. The master then said, “Right, everyone listen up. One, two, three!” I stamped my right foot along with the rest. The master then said, “Alright, you can sit down.” To my regret, I found myself falling asleep again.
In 1994, I returned home and started a small private business. My health continued to deteriorate. Despite being in my forties, my appearance resembled that of a seventy-year-old old woman. I gained more new ailments, such as cardiac arrhythmia, anxiety attacks, and the inability to sweat normally. I also had four traffic accidents and underwent a major operation to remove ovarian tumors. My attempts to worship Buddhas in temples also resulted in spirit possession. By this time I felt I had reached the end and I was waiting for death.
In May 1998, I met a Falun Dafa practitioner who encouraged me to practice. I resisted her advice till half a year later when at the brink of desperation, I reluctantly picked up a copy of Zhuan Falun. Three days into learning the exercise movements, I was shaken from sleep by a foreign crawling sensation on my face. I touched my face and found it covered in sweat. My clothes and bed sheets were soaked. I got up, took a shower, and changed into clean clothes before going back to sleep. That night, I slept very soundly. When I woke up the following morning I felt refreshed and relaxed. At the practice site, I happily told fellow practitioners, “I have obtained the Fa! Master took me under his care and made my illnesses vanish! It's amazing!”
Sometime later, while watching a video of Master’s lectures, I had a sudden realization, “Master, I’ve seen you in person before!” I recalled my experience at the Shenzhen Municipal Committee auditorium, and how Master resolved two of my chronic illnesses. While I was asleep, Master eliminated my chronic headache. With a stomp of my foot, he had removed my liver disease. After curing two of my most severe illnesses, Master eliminated the rest of my ailments after only three days of cultivation practice!
Now, I understand that all my earlier suffering and tribulations were arranged by Master, so I could pay off my accumulated karmic debts and embark on a new life. I promise to continue cultivating diligently until consummation.
To thank Master I wrote the following poem:
Bullied in my youth, Plagued by illness as an adult, Obtaining Dafa in old age, Returning to my origin with Master.
