(Minghui.org) I run a clothing retail store in Northeast China. In 2014, I went to a large wholesale market in South China to purchase goods. I ordered 17 pants from a wholesaler, but canceled the order and got a refund because they couldn’t provide a full range of sizes. However, the pants were somehow delivered to me. This was a large company and my order wasn’t a big deal to them, so if I didn’t mention it, I’m sure they wouldn’t find out.
However, as a Dafa practitioner, Master Li (Dafa’s founder) tells us to be thoughtful of others, and take fame and gain lightly. Although 17 pairs of pants were not a big order, it was still a loss to them, so I thought I should return the pants.
I called the wholesaler and told them about the error. I said, “I have a faith so I can’t take advantage of you. Please give me your address so I can return the items.”
He seemed really taken aback, and responded, “You are the only one who wants to return goods when you have the chance to take them for free. Thank you!”
Due to safety concerns, I didn’t tell him that I was a Falun Dafa practitioner, which I regret. A few years later, I contacted him again for business. He couldn’t remember me, and was quite arrogant. But when I mentioned the issue of the pants, he changed his attitude, and said, “I know you!”
I partnered with another wholesaler for two years. As we had an ongoing business, I usually paid the bills at the end of the season. But because he couldn’t provide his goods on time, I canceled the partnership and cleared the account.
When I was done, I felt something wasn’t right. However, I was pressed for time, so didn’t think it over any further. If I had time, I would have checked over the accounts, but it got delayed for three years.
When I finally managed to go over the accounts I found a mistake. I owed my ex-partner 600 yuan, but according to the accounts he owed me 600 yuan, which meant, I was over-paid 1200 yuan.
I took some snapshots of my order sheet and sent it over to him. I called him and explained the situation in detail. I said, “The accountant’s work is very tedious, so please don’t criticize him. Otherwise, I will feel sad for him.”
He paused a while, before saying, “You’re so thoughtful. It has been three years and I don’t have these invoices anymore. There’s no way to check and no one would know if you didn’t tell me. It is hard to believe that there is such an honest and kind person in this world.”
He continued, “From now on, I will send all the goods you order in advance of payment. Anything you want, it will be my priority to ship to you, as I know you will pay whenever it’s due.”
I was moved because Master taught me that only by being a good person will people respect me.
I’m not the only one like this, there are millions who are as honest and benevolent. They are Dafa practitioners. However, these people are persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party.
If you have a chance, please speak up for Falun Dafa. Simply saying “Dafa practitioners are good people will be very helpful. They are treated unjustly.” You will earn infinite merit for doing this. Thank you.
