(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 18 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Lanfang Sentenced to 3 Years and 6 Months in Prison
2. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Zhifen Sentenced to 4 Years in Prison
3. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Original Verdicts Upheld Against Ms. Guo Shufen and Mr. Jia Jingwen
4. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yin Junmei Arrested
5. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Ce Arrested at Home
6. [Qing’an County, Heilongjiang Province] Multiple Practitioners Harassed
7. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Sha Yumei Arrested
8. [Fuyang City, Anhui Province] Ms. Feng Ling and Her Family Harassed
9. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Yonglan Arrested
10. [Anlu City, Hubei Province] Mr. Sheng Yuansheng’s Home Ransacked
11. [Shanghai] Ms. Xie Hongzhu in Her 70s Arrested

1. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Lanfang Sentenced to 3 Years and 6 Months in Prison
Ms. Yu Lanfang’s daughter received a call from the Wujiang District Court in Suzhou City on September 27, 2022. She was informed that the verdict in her mother’s case would be announced on September 29. Ms. Yu, 55, was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months. She was held by the court and is now being held in the Fengqiao Police Station.
2. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Zhifen Sentenced to 4 Years in Prison
Ms. Li Zhifen was sentenced to 4 years in prison.
3. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Original Verdicts Upheld Against Ms. Guo Shufen and Mr. Jia Jingwen
The Linghai Court sentenced Ms. Guo Shufen to 2 years and 3 months in prison and Mr. Jia Jingwen to 7 years in prison. Both Ms. Guo and Mr. Jia appealed to the Jinzhou Intermediate Court, which upheld their original verdicts without opening a court session to hear their cases. Ms. Guo is still being held in the Jinzhou Women’s Detention Center. Mr. Jia is still being held in the Jinzhou Detention Center.
4. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yin Junmei Arrested
Ms. Yin Junmei, about 60 years old, was arrested by officers from the Guan County Police Department on September 24, 2022.
5. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Ce Arrested at Home
Agents from the Wendeng District Domestic Security Division went to Ms. Wang Ce’s home and arrested her on September 27, 2022.
6. [Qing’an County, Heilongjiang Province] Multiple Practitioners Harassed
Two officers from the Gangchang Police Station went to Mr. Liu Zhongde’s home to take a picture of him and register his identity card number and cell phone number.
Local police officers often harass Ms. Liu Zhongjie and Ms. Liu Zhongqin. The persecution has caused Ms. Liu Zhongjie to become disabled. Ms. Liu Zhongqin’s salary has been withheld for many years.
Ms. Zhang Zhiling’s family members were harassed by officers from the Xinsheng Township Police Station.
Ms. Zhang Guofen’s husband was harassed by officers and community staff. Ms. Lin Xiumei’s workplace withheld her salary for many years. Ms. Lin left town and is doing some odd jobs. Agents harass her family members every year.
7. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Sha Yumei Arrested
Officers from the Balibao Police Station arrested Ms. Sha Yumei and ransacked her home on September 28, 2022.
8. [Fuyang City, Anhui Province] Ms. Feng Ling and Her Family Harassed
Two officers from the Chengdong Police Station and the director of the Jinghu Community went to Ms. Feng Ling’s home on September 28, 2022. They video-recorded Ms. Feng and photographed her. They coerced Ms. Feng into signing statements to renounce Falun Gong and threatened her family members.
9. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Yonglan Arrested
Three agents forced their way into Ms. Wang Yonglan’s home at around 8 a.m. on September 26, 2022. Two of them searched the rooms and found photos of Falun Gong’s founder and Falun Gong books. Ms. Wang asked for the books. The agents seized photos of Falun Gong’s founder and a desk calendar. They also took a picture of Ms. Wang.
They then took Ms. Wang to the police department and wrote down what she said. An officer printed out two papers and pressured her to sign them.
10. [Anlu City, Hubei Province] Mr. Sheng Yuansheng’s Home Ransacked
Agents from the Anlu Domestic Security Division ransacked Mr. Sheng Yuansheng’s home on September 29, 2022, and seized all of his Falun Gong books. Mr. Sheng was not home at that time.
11. [Shanghai] Ms. Xie Hongzhu in Her 70s Arrested
Ms. Xie Hongzhu, in her 70s, was reported to the police for talking about Falun Gong in a supermarket. She was arrested at her home by five agents from the Baoshan District Domestic Security Division. They broke into her home on September 29, 2022, and ransacked it.
12. [Beijing] Mr. Wu Zhiming Officially Arrested
Mr. Wu Zhiming was officially arrested.
