(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 6 cities or counties in 3 provinces, where at least 12 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Wang Pingchuang and His Wife Ms. Zhao Xijuan Sentenced to Nine Years and Seven Years in Prison Respectively
2. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Four Practitioners Arrested
3. [Gong’an County, Hubei Province] Four Practitioners Harassed
4. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhu Huimin Harassed
5. [Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province] Wang Hua Detained
6. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhou Yanli Arrested
1. [Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Wang Pingchuang and His Wife Ms. Zhao Xijuan Sentenced to Nine Years and Seven Years in Prison Respectively
Mr. Wang Pingchuang and his wife Ms. Zhao Xijuan from Wugong County were arrested in Xi’an City and have been detained for nearly two years. They were sentenced to nine years and seven years in prison respectively and fined 50,000 yuan by the Yanta District Court on December 16, 2021. They appealed their cases and the original terms were upheld by the Xi’an City Intermediate Court on May 25, 2022.
Mr. Wang Pingchuang was taken to Weinan Prison on September 26, 2022. He is currently being held in the No. 16 Ward. His family received the prison notice on October 4, 2022.
2. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Four Practitioners Arrested
Four practitioners from Weibin District, including Li Wanlin, Tang Junmin, Liu Haixia, and Baomei, were arrested on the evening of July 19, 2022 for distributing truth clarifying materials in Yangping Town, Chencang District. They are being held in the Chencang District Detention Center.
3. [Gong’an County, Hubei Province] Four Practitioners Harassed
People from Guanshan Community in Douhudi Town went to Ms. Yan Daoxia’s home in early October 2022. They photographed the place and told her not to go out to distribute information about Falun Gong.
The director of the Nanping Town Community went to Ms. Yan’s home and told her not to distribute Falun Gong materials.
Xiang Xiaoyang, deputy of the Gong’an County Domestic Security Division, went to Ms. Li Xuying’s home. He photographed the place and told her not to go out and distribute information about Falun Gong.
Hu from Canling Community in Douhudi Town called Ms. Chen Gongyu to the community with the excuse of conducting the annual pension review. When Ms. Chen went there, the community staff members took photos of her and installed so-called anti-fraud malware on her cell phone.
4. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhu Huimin Harassed
Zhang Min and Peng Jing, officials from Jianghan Community of Wuchang District, went to Ms. Zhu Huimin’s home on the afternoon of October 11, 2022. They pressured her to sign a guarantee statement, which she refused.
5. [Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province] Wang Hua Detained
Wang Hua from Huyi District has been detained in the Xi’an City Detention Center since July 5, 2021.
6. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhou Yanli Arrested
Ms. Zhou Yanli from Hushitai Town, Shenbei New District, was arrested at home at around 9 p.m. on October 16, 2022. Another female practitioner was arrested at 2 p.m. that day when she was distributing desktop calendars. Both practitioners were released in the evening.
