(Minghui.org) I have been practicing Falun Dafa for 23 years. It has not been easy, after failing many xinxing tests, but there were also joyous times when I made improvements by letting go of my attachments. Dafa practitioners have been given the great mission of clarifying the truth and offering salvation to sentient beings. When talking with people face-to-face, I can sense they are eager to be saved.
“There Is No Need for You to Say More!”
Both my in-laws are in their 80’s. My father-in-law was diagnosed with cancer two years ago, but was unable to undergo surgery because of his age; he could only be treated conservatively. The cancer was difficult to control, and his children were worried about him.
My in-laws had quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its youth organizations and often recited “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” on a daily basis. I believed that they had a strong predestined relationship with Dafa and should take up cultivation practice. My father-in-law had difficulty hearing, so I planned on talking to my mother-in-law first.
A former practitioner returned home for the Chinese New Year and tested positive for COVID. This created a lot of fear in our area, and people were panicking. A friend who practiced Dafa reminded him that Master Li (the founder of Falun Dafa) was watching over him. So when he took a COVID test the next day, it was negative. My mother-in-law was moved when I told her this, so I asked if she wanted to learn Dafa.
“I am very content as I am,” she replied. “I live a good life with respectful children and a harmonious family.”
I continued, “That’s because you’re kind, and have received blessings. You were born during the War [The Second Sino-Japanese War (1937–1945)] and grew up during various political campaigns. It couldn’t have been easy when Mao [Zedong] ordered the youth to go to the countryside to reform through labor. With one campaign after another, the CCP wiped out China’s cultural elites, shattered our 5,000 years of traditional culture, and created an atheistic Party culture, which exacerbated the decline of social morality. After Falun Dafa spread, the Party began to persecute good people who follow the universal values of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. What bad things will people who lack faith and have no moral restraint do?
“Udumbara flowers have been blooming in our home for six or seven years in a row. That is not only an encouragement to me, but also a reward from the divine for our being a good family.”
I continued, “When I was persecuted for practicing Falun Dafa, my in-laws and my family supported me, and they spoke of justice for Dafa among the neighbors. You also told them about when you fell down not long ago. You hit the ground hard but were not harmed. You told people that you believed that the divine protected you.”
My mother-in-law then waved her hand and said, “There is no need for you to say more! Let me talk to your father-in-law. We want to learn Falun Dafa!”
Two Department Directors Quit The Party
One of my father’s friends was the director of a certain government bureau. I went to visit him and his wife (I called her aunt). The aunt asked about my mother’s health. “Your mother had two serious illnesses and recovered so well. I don’t have serious illnesses, but I don’t feel good,” she said.
My mother had surgery for lung cancer over 20 years ago, and she later broke her spine twice. So I told the aunt how my mother benefited from practicing Falun Dafa. I then taught her to recite “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” I also mentioned my experience of benefiting from the practice, as well as its miraculous effects on healing illnesses.
I demonstrated the meditation exercise to my aunt, and she remarked, “I’ve seen the pamphlet, and this is the exercise shown on it.” I then asked them both if they would like to quit the CCP.
The husband replied, “Someone once asked me to quit, but I didn’t do it.” He expressed his displeasure of being approached on the street by a Falun Dafa practitioner asking him to quit the Party.
“There are no strangers here today,” I replied. “You can quit the Party to stay safe.”
The husband thought for a while and said, “I quit the CCP!” The wife then said she was also a Party member and both of them agreed to quit.
I met a retired director from another workplace. Practitioners often sent truth-clarification materials to his home, so I asked him about quitting the CCP. “Quit from your heart,” I said. “I’ll give you an amulet so you can remember to recite, ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.’”
He hesitated and didn’t accept the amulet but read the auspicious phrases: “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” and repeated it as he walked away.
A Teacher Accepts the Journal Heaven And Earth
A fellow practitioner and I saw a few people chatting outside, so we walked over and handed an amulet and a booklet to two elderly women. However, there was a younger man and woman who refused to accept the materials. The younger woman was looking at her phone, but she didn’t seem to have any ill will toward us.
I noticed she was dressed elegantly and told her, “Falun Dafa cultivates the Buddha Fa according to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, which teaches people to be good and improves one’s morality.”
I then talked about Zhou Yongkang, Li Dongsheng, Bo Xilai, and other high ranking CCP officials who persecuted Dafa and received karmic retribution. She accepted what I told her, and said she was a teacher. During the pandemic, she taught students online and had to review a lot of homework. As a result, she strained her eyes, and she didn’t want to read books after that. She then smiled and said, “I’m about to retire and made up my mind that I won’t read anything after retirement.”
I took out the journal Heaven and Earth from the basket of my bicycle and said, “I’ll give you an enticing book. Even though the cover doesn’t look professional, we made it with our own money, and the content is full of positive energy. This is something only intellectuals can appreciate.”
She looked at a page and said, “The words are quite big.” I then briefly introduced the contents to her, and she accepted it. When I spoke about quitting the CCP, she said she had joined the Young Pioneers and wanted to quit.
At this last moment of Fa-rectification, only by studying the Fa well, looking within, and having sufficient righteous thoughts can we save more people. Sentient beings are waiting for Dafa practitioners to save them!
