(Minghui.org) 78-year-old Ms. Pang Yongfeng was released in September 2021 after serving two years for her faith in Falun Gong. The once healthy woman had by this time completely lost her memory and become wheelchair-bound.

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual disipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Ms. Pang, a resident of Lianjiang City, Guangdong Province, traveled to Foshan City in the same province to visit her two daughters in September 2019. She was reported for passing out informational materials about Falun Gong and talking to people about it. The police followed and arrested her.

The police ransacked her two daughters’ homes in Foshan City. Both daughters and their husbands were held at the local police station for one day.

The police first held Ms. Pang at Shishan Detention Center. When her daughters went to visit her, the guard on duty refused to grant them a meeting with their mother and refused to accept the clothes they brought for her.

The guard later revealed that Ms. Pang had been transferred to another detention facility, but he refused to reveal the exact location. Not until a year later did Ms. Pang’s children finally find that she had been secretly sentenced to two years by the Foshan City Court.

According to an insider, Ms. Pang was hospitalized several times due to high blood pressure. She was also given unknown injections. By the time she was released, she had completely lost her memory. She can no longer recognize her loved ones. It’s not clear whether she suffered physical torture while in custody.

Prior to her latest sentencing, Ms. Pang was arrested in August 2007 for distributing Falun Gong materials. She was taken to a brainwashing center following two more arrests in July 2008 and July 2010.
