(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 10 provinces, where at least 30 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Zhang Xiaorong Sentenced to Three Years in Prison
Ms. Zhang Xiaorong was arrested by officers from the Suohe Road Police Station in Xingyang City in 2021. She was held in the Zhengzhou City No. 3 Detention Center for nearly a year. She was recently sentenced to three years in prison.
2. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Peng Jianpu Faces Trial
The Hailin City Procuratorate brought Mr. Peng Jianpu’s case files from Muling City to the Hailing City Court for trial. The trial is scheduled between October 8 and 18, 2022.
3. [Panshi City, Jilin Province] Case Against Ms. Liu Xia Brought to Court
Ms. Liu Xia from the Fugui Village, Hulan Town, was repeatedly reported to higher-level government officials by village Party secretary Zhang Haiqing for clarifying the truth about the persecution. Zhang also requested government officials and the police station to take measures against Ms. Liu.
Four people from the Panshi City Domestic Security Division, the Political and Legal Affairs Committee, and the local police station broke into Ms. Liu’s home on March 2, 2022. They took Ms. Liu to the Shulan City Detention Center. Due to the pandemic, she was denied admittance and was brought home on March 4.
On August 23, three people from the Panshi City Domestic Security Division, the Political and Legal Affairs Committee, and the police station arrested Ms. Liu. She was taken directly to the Chuanying District Court. They pressured her to sign the case files, which she refused.
4. [Liquan County, Shaanxi Province] Six Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Li Jing, Mr. Zhang Tao, Ms. Li Xianghong, Mr. Zhang Lan, and a female practitioner Xiaoyan went to distribute information about Falun Gong in Qian County on September 30, 2022. Officers from the Qian County Domestic Security Division tracked them down based on surveillance videos and arrested them.
Currently, Ms. Li Jing, Ms. Li Xianghong, and Xiaoyan are being held in the Liquan County Detention Center. The other three practitioners are being held in the Qian County Detention Center.
5. [Wanzai County, Jiangxi Province] Three Practitioners’ Homes Ransacked
Wu Hui and three other officers from the Wanzai County State Security Division ransacked the home of Ms. Guo Yunying, 66, on October 9, 2022. They confiscated calendars that had information about Falun Gong.
On the same day, the four officers broke into the home of Ms. Ouyang Meixiang, 63, and ransacked the place.
On October 10, the home of Ms. Guo Yuncheng, in her 70s, was also ransacked.
6. [Tianjin] Several Practitioners Arrested
Officer Zhang Hongzhen from the Banchang Road Police Station in the Dagang District, Binhai New Area, together with seven or eight people from the Tianjin Police Department, the Tianjin Domestic Security Division, and the local residents’ committee broke into Ms. Han Wenmin’s home on the morning of September 20, 2022. They arrested Ms. Han and her husband Mr. Hu Xuelin. The officers took the keys from the couple and ransacked their home while no one was there (according to the law, a family member must be present). They confiscated Falun Gong books, a radio, a cell phone, U disks, and photos of the founder of Falun Gong. They also tore up pictures on the wall which had the words, “Falun Dafa is Good” and the paper-cuts that were on the windows.
On the same day, downstairs at the building where Ms. Han lives, the police arrested Ms. Wang Yong and confiscated her Falun Gong books. Ms. Lu Xiangluan was also arrested at home. The officers interrogated Ms. Wang and Ms. Lu claiming they were verifying issues. They did not let the two practitioners go home until about 11 p.m. that night.
7. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Chunxiao Monitored Around the Clock
Officers from the Yingchengzi Police Station knocked and banged on the door of Ms. Li Chunxiao’s home on September 30, 2022. They also made harassing phone calls.
For over 10 days, police officers were staked out near Ms. Li Chunxiao’s home around the clock. Several other officers stayed at the entrance of the residential community where Ms. Li lived to monitor her.
8. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Rongzhen and Ms. Li Surong Harassed
Officers from the Jiefu Road Police Station twice broke into 55-year-old Ms. Li Rongzhen’s rented home in early October 2022. They photographed her when she was not looking at them.
Ms. Li Surong, in her 60s, was harassed by police officers, and her home was ransacked.
9. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Li Chunlian Held in Mental Hospital
Ms. Chen Jun, Ms. Tian Huazhen, Ms. Li Chunlian, Ms. Qiu Yongzhi, and Ms. Zhang Jiao’e from Jiangxia District were arrested by officers from the Zhifang Police Station on June 16, 2022. They have been held in custody. Ms. Chen and Ms. Li were taken to the Wanji Mental Hospital.
Ms. Li’s family member went to the mental hospital to visit her in early October. They found that Ms. Li could no longer recognize her family member, and she was very thin. Her family strongly demanded that the mental hospital release her. The person in charge said that the Zhifang Police Station prohibited her release. Ms. Li’s family went to the police station the following day and asked officer Li to release her, and their request was rejected.
10. [Dongliao County, Jilin Province] Mr. Shang Dejun and Ms. Wang Shuzhen Harassed
Pan Zhaojun, from the Lingyun Township Political and Legal Affairs Committee, led Ma Cong and Miao Lei from the Zhangyu Police Station to the home of Mr. Shang Dejun and his wife Ms. Wang Shuzhen on October 11, 2022. They asked the couple to write “five statements” and wanted to take pictures of them. Mr. Shang did not cooperate with them.
11. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Xiuyun Harassed
Residential officer Liu from the Hailun Road Police Station in Shibei District went to Ms. Wang Xiuyun’s home on the morning of October 10, 2022. Liu searched the place and took pictures. Ms. Wang refused to be photographed.
12. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Shihai’s Lawyer Denied Access to Case Files
Mr. Li Shihai’s lawyer went to the Chanhe District Procuratorate in Luoyang City around 8:30 a.m. on October 10, 2022, to read case files. The procuratorate officials denied his request. Luoyang City Detention Center staff members did not allow the lawyer to meet with Mr. Li, and they used the pandemic as their excuse.
Officers from the Luoyang City Police Department claimed that in February 2022, they discovered that Mr. Li and others established a chat group using overseas chat software Potato, and posted videos of Falun Gong facts and content from The Epoch Times. They said that Mr. Li was the chat group administrator.
On April 14, 2002, officers from the Luoyang City Police Department filed a case regarding the chat group.
13. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Guo Hailian and Another Practitioner Arrested
Ms. Guo Hailian and another female practitioner from Xinanwen Village, Weicheng Town, Wei County, were arrested while talking to people about Falun Gong in Damo Township on October 11, 2022. Their homes were ransacked. It was reported on October 12 that Ms. Guo was detained for 10 days and the other practitioner was detained for five days.
