(Minghui.org) Two policemen knocked on my door shortly after noon on September 15, 2022. One was from the local police station; I had not met the other one. Before I could say a word, as soon as I opened the door, the officer I didn’t know took a photo of me. I yelled at him as I closed the door, “What are you doing? No photos!” I opened the door again and said, “Why didn’t you ask permission before taking the photo? You are breaking the law and violating my rights.” I shut the door and ignored them. I didn’t notice when they left. I felt I was doing the right thing at the time.

I told fellow practitioners about this encounter the following morning at a group Fa-study. An older practitioner said that a police officer had visited her the day before. Her granddaughter opened the door for him. The officer looked at the girl and asked the practitioner, “Do you have a visitor today?” The practitioner said she did indeed, her granddaughter.

The policeman seemed unconcerned and changed the topic, “It smells like you’re cooking.” The practitioner said, “Yes, we have freshly boiled corn. Do you want one?” The policeman smiled and refused her offer, then said a few things to the practitioner’s son and left.

I saw my lack of character when I heard how she handled her police visit. I looked within more after I returned home. Why did I treat the two officers who visited me like I did? All I paid attention to was that I didn’t like their taking a photo without permission. I didn’t stop to consider that they were just carrying out their so-called “jobs,” let alone that it was an opportunity for me to clarify the truth to them and save those poor lives who were being used by the evil.

I still regretted my attitude after sending forth righteous thoughts at noon. The way we each handled the issue was a reflection of our different xinxing levels. I admitted my mistake to Master with tears in my eyes. I have cultivated for more than 20 years, but my xinxing is still so low. I deeply felt that it is not easy for Master to save me, and only by diligently doing the three things well can my heart be at peace and can I be worthy of Master’s kindness.
