(Minghui.org) A 75-year-old Lishui City, Zhejiang Province resident was recently sentenced to four years for her faith in Falun Gong, a mind-body practice that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Ying Aiyun was arrested on September 21, 2021 and had her home ransacked. She has been held at the Lishui Detention Center since. Other details about her sentencing aren’t clear.
Prior to her latest sentencing, Ms. Ying has served 1.5 years of forced labor and 3.5 years in prison for upholding her faith.
Because of her going to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong in July 1999, Ms. Ying was put under house arrest by her workplace. She returned to Beijing to appeal again in May 2000 and was detained.
In June 2000, Ms. Ying was transferred to a brainwashing center. The guards often tied her and other detained practitioners up in a spread eagle position to the window frame. When the practitioners meditated in protest, the guards stomped on their feet.
After the brainwashing session ended, Ms. Ying was given 1.5 years of forced labor in November 2000.
Ms. Ying was arrested again in 2004 for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong.
Her next arrest was on November 1, 2013, after being reported for talking to people about Falun Gong. The local court sentenced her to 3.5 years.
