(Minghui.org) I started to practice Falun Dafa, an ancient spiritual discipline, in 1997. As I read Zhuan Falun, I kept crying, and I knew this was the spiritual path I had been looking for.
Because I own a small restaurant, I have the opportunity to talk to people about Dafa all the time, especially after the communist regime ordered the persecution of Dafa in 1999 due to its popularity. Over the past 23 years, I’ve often been moved by how people identify with Dafa’s principles and support us. I’d like to share a few examples.
The Residential Committee Director Protects Dafa Practitioners
The director of my local residential committee was once assigned to monitor me and another practitioner. Initially, she actively harassed us and tried to force us to renounce Dafa. But as we kept clarifying the facts to her, she changed her view and realized that she’d been deceived by the communist regime’s demonizing propaganda. After that, she stopped harassing us and began to help us.
One time, she was summoned to a brainwashing center and assigned to monitor practitioners. She often helped the practitioners deliver messages to each other and she also guarded the door for them when they did the exercises. She used to have a severe eye condition. As the practitioners were doing the exercises, her eyes kept watering and her vision improved. She knew Dafa’s Master Li had purified her eyes for her.
The director was riding a motorcycle when she fell on a bridge, but she wasn’t hurt and the motorcycle wasn’t damaged. She knew Master Li had protected her.
The director also quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and then persuaded many of her family members to quit it as well.
A New Friend in the Brainwashing Center
When I was held in a brainwashing center, a woman in her 40s was assigned to monitor me. At first, she was frightened of me and refused to listen to me talk about Dafa. I later learned that she thought Dafa was dangerous, because many people had urged her to be extra careful when dealing with its practitioners.
But after spending some time with us, she realized that we were nothing like what was depicted on TV. I seized every opportunity to explain Dafa’s principles to her and let her know that we only wanted to be good people and that it was the CCP that was spreading hatred against us.
After this woman returned home, she told her family and friends what she’d learned about Dafa. She also brought her relatives to us and asked us to persuade them to quit the CCP. She persuaded some of her coworkers to quit the Party as well.
She told us that Dafa’s principles also influenced her. She no longer took things home when she made purchases for her company. She felt she’d been blessed with more income, better health, and resolved family conflicts.
The Electronics Store Owner
When I went to an electronics store to change the battery in my media player, the owner tested the battery by playing music on it. When he heard the music “Pudu,” he said it was Buddhist music. I took the opportunity to tell him about Dafa and persuaded him to quit the Party.
When I left, he walked me to the door. I turned around when I was some distance away and saw he was still standing there with his hands the heshi position of respect. I took some Dafa materials to him a few days later. He said, “Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!” He held out both hands to take the materials and also did heshi to me.
“I Will Keep the Nine Words in My Heart”
I was waiting for a bus when a teenage girl asked me for directions. She thanked me after I told her, and took the opportunity to tell her about Dafa. She called several of her friends to come over and listen to me together.
I told them about the Tiananmen self-immolation hoax and how the communist regime persecutes Falun Dafa and the Chinese people. I urged them to quit the Youth League and they all agreed to. A boy said, “Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!” The girl also said, “I will keep the nine words in my heart.”
After I got on the bus I was waiting for, they stood in a line and waved goodbye to me. I was so touched by their purity and sincerity.
70-year-old Woman Wakes Up from Unexplained Coma
A friend of mine was in her 70s. She knew that Dafa was good and had quit the CCP. She told me that she once fell into a coma. After her son took her to the hospital, the doctor couldn’t find anything wrong with her and refused to treat her. She said her brother had died a few years before the same way. “But the Dafa amulet you gave me protected me, and I woke up a few days later,” she said.
A Company Owner Brought Her Friends to My Restaurant
The owner of a company came to my restaurant for lunch with a few friends. As soon as I brought up the topic of Falun Dafa, she stood up and they all left.
She came back the next day to apologize to me. I explained to her how the CCP spreads hateful propaganda to slander us, and this time she understood. She said she was very sorry. She told me that, as soon as she heard me talking about Dafa, she was so frightened she couldn’t stop shaking. I knew it was the propaganda that had made her react that way.
After she returned home, she told her husband about it and also persuaded him to quit the Party. She brought her friends back to my restaurant a few more times and sometimes helped me clarify the facts to them. She told me that she couldn’t help crying when she watched the video series “Now and For the Future” that I gave her.
“The Professors and Students at My College Have Lost Their Trust in the Communist Party”
I once met a Ph.D. student who agreed to quit the Party. I then recommended that he download the software to circumvent the CCP censorship so that he could browse uncensored information on overseas websites. He told me that many people at his school are using the software and that many professors and students have lost their trust in the regime.
