(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 12 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Gaozhou City, Guangdong Province] Case Against Ms. Wu Youqing Brought to Court
Ms. Wu Youqing’s lawyer went to the Maonan District Procuratorate in Maoming City on the morning of November 28, 2022, to review her case files. He was told that her case was sent to the Maonan District Court on November 25. On the morning of November 22, her former lawyer told the family that Ms. Wu’s case was delivered to the Maonan District Procuratorate.
The case stayed in the procuratorate for only a few days before it was sent to the court. Ms. Wu’s lawyer went to the court to submit the necessary paperwork in order to review the case files. An assistant to Ke Xuejun, head of the criminal court, told the lawyer, “The judge in charge of Ms. Wu’s case has not yet been determined; the power of attorney has to be signed by Ms. Wu herself for the court to approve it, after which the lawyer can review the case files.”
On the afternoon of November 29, the lawyer went to the Maoming City No. 1 Detention Center and asked the guards to take the power of attorney document and have Ms. sign it. The lawyer said he would pick it up after she signed it.
2. [Huanggang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Gong Xiaolan Arrested
Ms. Gong Xiaolan, 53, from Liuhe Town, Qichun County, was reported to the police for clarifying the truth about the persecution on November 16, 2022. She was arrested by officers from the Shizi Town Police Station. Her home was ransacked. Her mouth was bleeding as a result of police beatings. It is unclear where she is being held.
In June 2014, Ms. Gong was arrested and sentenced to one year and six months in prison for distributing truth-clarifying materials in the county’s remote mountainous area.
3. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Xie Lihua Detained
Ms. Xie Lihua was arrested and her home was ransacked in mid-October 2022. She is being held in Nanjing City Detention Center.
4. [Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
Zhang Chuanwen, Du Qinghua, and Liu Zhenqing from Nankouqian Town were arrested while distributing desk calendars and clarifying the truth in Gengjiabao Village around 12 p.m. on December 4, 2022. Around 8 p.m., the officers decided to place Du and Liu under administrative detention for five days, which was suspended temporarily due to the pandemic. The two practitioners were released. Zhang was taken to the Qingyuan County Public Department.
5. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Qin Songfa and Family Harassed
Three officers from the Xiazhuang Police Station broke into Mr. Qin Songfa’s home and ransacked the place on December 2, 2022. They did not find anything when they rummaged through the rooms. Mr. Qin and his family were taken to the police station, where they were forced to sign paperwork. The officers then drove Mr. Qin and his family back home.
6. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhou Qiying Harassed
Five people from the Xinxing Town government and the police station went to the Shangjia residential community in Tianpeng Town to harass Ms. Zhou Qiying at 10 a.m. on December 2, 2022. They took pictures when they entered her home. At the time Ms. Zhou’s son had only been discharged from the hospital for three days.
7. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Wang Yulan Arrested
Four male and one female plainclothes officers from the Wuhua District Police Department and the Puji Police Station broke into Ms. Wang Yulan’s home around 9 a.m. on November 16, 2022. They confiscated over 10 Falun Gong books, various keepsakes, truth-clarification materials, and USB drives. They took Ms. Wang to the police station for interrogation. Ms. Wang was released at 3 p.m. that afternoon.
8. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Qiuju and Ms. He Xuemei Held in Custody
Ms. Chen Qiuju and Ms. He Xuemei are still held in custody. Ms. Tang Xiaoming was released at around 10 p.m. on November 2, 2022.
9. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhao Guiling Arrested
Three police officers suddenly broke into Ms. Zhao Guiling’s home around 3 a.m. on July 12, 2022. They claimed that Ms. Zhao’s car was damaged, and that they came to discuss the issue of compensation. But as soon as they entered her home, they went straight to the bedroom and took all the Falun Gong books from the closet, including more than 50 Falun Gong books, a set of Fa lecture tapes, a set of Fa lecture CDs, two cell phones and a laptop computer.
They later went to the home of Ms. Zhao’s son. They took Ms. Zhao directly to the Police Department of the High-tech Development Zone. Three officers interrogated her, recorded the conversation, and took her blood samples and fingerprints. They asked Ms. Zhao to sign the three statements, which she refused.
Afterwards, the officers called in Zhao Guiling’s family members to guarantee her release, and asked them to sign the printed release on bail form, after which they released Ms. Zhao.
